The PvP in GW1 is the key that kept me playing for 7 years.
Even I didn’t have much time, I still can enjoy random arena.
But the current GW2 PvP systems are all “capture point” based.
And the bigger size, the less skill imo. (WvWvW, Hot Join, sPvP)
We need something simple that you don’t have to use voice chat and still can win/ have fun.
Let’s say, 3v3 annihilation random arena. I believe it will be much easier to start than sPvP that requires 40 players to start.
But I think the annihilation mode needs some modifications, since PvP kills super fast and we don’t have monks now.
1. Reduce damage taken by some percentage.
2. Add more tactical terrains/cover objects since there are way too many ranged AoE weapons.
Let’s say PvP in GW1, we have HoH(HA), GvG, Alliance Battle, Team arena, Random Arena, Hero Battle, Codex Arena. They are all different and why were AB,TA, HB and Codex dead.
Anyway, I really won’t bother PvP anymore until ArenaNet made significant changes.
