Hello fellow adventures,

I probably talk for alot of people if I say: Gw2 needs the Ego-Perspective.
No, not the one from Shooters or TES, the simple one every other MMO has, including the original Guild Wars.

Why? Because it gives a better sense of space, you get a better feeling for how big buildings actually are, because you look through the eyes of your character, and not from a camera far away. Because of the 3rd Person camera, most buildings don’t look this big and because of that, not that impressive.
Another reason: At Festival Events like the Fireworks in Lions Arch, you constantly have to look at your characters butt and you don’t see that much, with a Ego-Perspective, you could enjoy such events much more.

Just give us the Option to zoom in until you have the Ego-Perspective, just like in gw1, it’s that easy, and seriously, it’s weird that this option hasn’t been available from the beginning.

Yeah, this has been asked for again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again and still hasn’t been implemented. It makes photographer players like me struggle a lot with getting that vista we need. I mean you can always make your player sleep, but then you have to get just the right angle so the sleeping body isn’t in it or cut off some of the bottom of the screen which is annoying. I would really love a first person perspective.

Agreed. It’s ridiculous this hasn’t been implemented yet.

I agree. There are many things I would love to see that didn’t involve looking around my character or looking at from a sky high perspective. I actually like fighting from a third person perspective so I can see everything going on around me, but everything else I want to see without beinkittened.

Clearly we’re intended to be able to go into first person view because our characters begin to turn invisible when we get to a certain distance with our characters (like if we’re facing a wall and then our floating eyes / mouth start to be the only thing we see), but the option to enter first person view has been entirely removed. Why?

I hear it was available during the press conference versions of the game prior to it becoming beta for other players, but that begs the question of why it was removed to begin with. What was causing such a problem that it needed to be done away with?

Also I think this has been asked for WAY more than the culling thing, yet culling is getting attention first. Again, WHY?
