War Fan (Tessen) were folding fans with outer spokes made of heavy plates of iron which were designed to look like normal, harmless folding fans or solid clubs shaped to look like a closed fan. Samurai could take these to places where swords or other overt weapons were not allowed, and some swordsmanship schools included training in the use of the tessen as a weapon (tessenjutsu). The tessen was also used for fending off arrows and darts, as a throwing weapon, and as an aid in swimming (from wikipedia)

Thief moveset: main hand warfan is more focused on condition damage, offhand is for inspiring you and nearby allies granting boons

Mainhand 1 (3-attack sequence, no cost):
>Elegant Slash: Slash enemy inflicting bleed
>Elegant Slice: Slash enemy inflicting bleed
>Wide Slash: Attacks in a cone damaging all enemies in front of you

Mainhand 2 (600 range, 4 initiative)
>Poison Darts: Shots 5 poisoned darts from your Warfan in a cone pathern poisoning enemies

Offhand 1 (600 range, 2 initiative)
>Phanton Step: Shadowsteps behind your target, if not stealthed will strike inflicting cripple (your character will not attack or generate any visual effect if stealthed, keeping yourself hidden)

Offhand 2 (300 range, 6 initiative)
>Deadly Dance: Leap at your foe with a graceful attack dealing damage, the beauty of the attack inspire you and nearby allies granting Might for 10 seconds.

Stealth:
>Phanton Strike: Attacks your enemy, inflicting bleed, if the enemy is hit from behind you re-enter stealth for 2 seconds and does not trigger the Revealed effect.

Dual skills (Slot 3):

Warfan Alone (900 range, 3 initiative)
>Throw Fan: Throw your weapon at the enemy that travels on a circular pathern, inflicting bleed and cripple on all enemies on the way.

Warfan + Warfan (6 initiative, 2 sec channel)
>Phanton Dance: Start performing with your fans while keeping your guard up, if hit at melee range the enemy attack is parried and you strike his legs, making him trip over knocking him down, if hit by a ranged attack the attack is reflected and you enter stealth for 5 seconds, if you are not attacked within 2 seconds you inspire your allies granting Vigor for 5 seconds

Warfan + Dagger (900 range, 3 initiative)
>Fan of Knives: Spray the area in front of you with thrown knifes that damage enemies

Warfan + Pistol (900 range, 4 initiative)
>Defensive Maneuver: Shoots the enemy with the pistol in the arms inflicting Weakness while backflipping evading an attack

Warfan + Fist (900 range, 3 initiative)
>Malicious Rush: Dashes forward in incredible speed dodging attacks and refreshing the duration of all Conditions on the enemies you go through.

Sword + Warfan (4 initiative)
>Retaliate: Prepares to counter the enemy, if hit at melee range the enemy attack is parried he takes massive damage, this will inspire your allies granting Retaliation for 5 seconds.

Dagger + Warfan (5 initiative)
>Bloodlust: Removes Blindness and strikes your opponent with brutal accuracy, if the attack connects it will inspire your allies, granting Fury for 10 seconds.

Pistol + Warfan (900 range, 5 initiative)
>Perfect Shot: Leap forward spinning and shoot the targeted enemy midair inflicting immobilise for 1 second (even if the target is behind you) inspiring your allies granting Swiftness for 10 seconds.

Fist + Warfan (4 initiative)
>Create Opening: Use your Warfan to distract your opponent while delivering a blow with your Fist that cannot be blocked or countered, this graceful attack inspire your allies granting Protection

Elementalist movesets:

Fire moveset: differs from the usual fire moveset approach, its based on condition damage and utility

Mainhand 1 (600 range)
>Sirocco: Releases a wave of very hot air that Burns enemies

Mainhand 2 (8 sec cooldown, 600 range)
>Combustion: Creates an small explosion where your target stands, dealing little damage, but inflicts Daze and heavy Bleeding

Mainhand 3 (20 sec cooldown, 600 range)
>Toxic Ashes: Breath a cone of toxic smoke that Poison and Blind foes

Offhand 1 (15 sec cooldown, 600 range radius)
>Cauterization: Removes Regeneration and Swiftness from enemies damaging them depending on how many boon stacks were removed, and removes Bleeding and Chill from allies healing them depending on how many condition stacks were removed

Offhand 2 (40 sec cooldown, 600 range radius)
>Fiery Inspiration: Grants Fiery Inspiration for you and nearby allies for 10 seconds, fiery inspiration converts certain conditions into boons (fear → fury, weakness → might, vulnerability → protection, poison → regen)

Water moveset: different from the default assistance role water movesets usually have, this is a long range offensive set.

Mainhand 1 (1200 range)
>Ice Bolts: Shots a spray of sharp piercing ice bolts that inflict Vulnerability to enemies hit.

Mainhand 2 (15 sec cooldown, 1200 range)
>Icicle Wave: Releases a slow wave of piercing icicles comming from the ground that follow the target, creating a wall of ice spikes in the ground (each segment lasts 5 seconds), enemies who step in the spikes becomes crippled. If the icicle wave manages to reach the target before vanishing it explodes dealing high damage and stuns it for 1 second

Mainhand 3 (15 sec cooldown, 1200 range)
>Leviathan: Releases a water serpent that pierces through enemies up to 3 times dealing damage, then returns to you healing an amount based on damage dealt, also grants regeneration to all allies it goes through.

Offhand 1 (30 sec cooldown, 600 range radius, 3 sec channel)
>Hurricane: Spins slashing and Chilling nearby enemies, each attack also removes conditions from allies

Offhand 2 (40 sec cooldown, 2-attack sequence)
>Ice Shield: Summons 3 Ice Shields that orbit arround you, if an Ice Shield is between you and an enemy attack the shield absorbs the attack and shatters, the shards travel up to 600 range and inflict Vulnerability on hit, if an enemy is at melee range when a shield shatters he is knocked down.
>Shatter: Shatter all your Ice Shields to damage enemies arround you.

Air moveset: assistance and mobility set, attacks are medium-long range.

Mainhand 1 (900 range)
>Wind Slash: Releases a wave of cutting air, deals moderate damage and Dazes the target.

Mainhand 2 (20 sec cooldown, 900 range)
>Wind Boomerang: Shots a boomerang that cripples enemies on it’s circular path.

Mainhand 3 (25 sec cooldown, 900 range)
>Air Blast: Uses a strong air blast to leap up/forward knocking nearby enemies down, creates an air cushion when landing negating fall damage, can be used midair to negate fall damage (without the leap)

Offhand 1 (30 sec cooldown, 900 range)
>Turbulence: Creates a turbulent area that grants Swiftness to allies, push back enemies that try to enter the area and reflect projectiles, lasts 5 seconds.

Offhand 2 (50 second cooldown)
>Zephir’s Gale: Grants 15 seconds of Swiftness and 5 seconds of Quickness to you. (that is better used with water or earth movesets)

Earth moveset: melee-range damage dealing

Mainhand 1 (300 range)
>Sand Blade: Attacks your target with a strong jet of sand inflicting Bleed

Mainhand 2 (8 sec cooldown, 300 range radius)
>Sand Blast: Explodes sand and dirt arround you damaging and Blinding foes

Mainhand 3 (20 sec cooldown, 300 range)
>Sand Wave: Summons a wave of sand that burrow enemies under it damaging them and knocking them down

Offhand 1 (30 sec cooldown, 300 range radius)
>Pulsing Earth: Generates small quakes when you move that deals damage depending on your speed for 3 seconds, moving faster than normal speed cause the quakes to Daze enemies

Offhand 2 (50 sec cooldown, 5 sec channel, 300 range)
>Sand Coffin: Cover your enemy in sand, dealing damage and keeping him stunned for the duration of the attack, channeling is interrupted if enemy breaks the Stun effect freeing himself

Mesmer moveset: This set mix ranged and close range combat, it doesn’t rely on illusions, but can throw lots of conditions (its also a reference to another videogame character)

Mainhand 1 (700 range)
>Chaos Bolts: Shoots 3 slow moving chaos bolts that inflict Confusion on enemies, if a chaos bolt fails to hit an enemy when reaching its max range it pops releasing a Chaos Butterfly, Chaos Butterflies seek the nearest target and move slowly towards him, inflicting a random condition if it manages to touch him

Mainhand 2 (10 sec cooldown)
>Reverse Dream: Flips backwards dodging attacks while releasing a swarm of Chaos Butterflies where you stood before the attack

Mainhand 3 (15 sec cooldown, 700 range)
>Dream Dance: Gains Distortion and dashes forward in incredible speed, if you collide with an enemy during the dash your character stop and do a whirlwind attack that damages and knock nearby enemies down and inflicts Confusion

Offhand 1 (20 sec cooldown, 1 sec channel, 1200 range)
>Light of Chaos: Shoots a beam in the target direction damaging all enemies on the way, deals more damage if the enemies hit have multiple conditions on them

Offhand 2 (50 sec cooldown, 3 sec channel)
>Chaos Sign: Your character is locked into place levitating above ground during this attack, releases a huge amount of Chaos Bolts and Lights of Chaos in the direction you are facing, a huge illusionary fan opens behind your character reducing damage taken from behind during the attack (but your enemy will still stay unharmed if he attacks you from behind)

A.Net has not ran out of realistic and traditional weapons, i really hope they do not jump into exotic territory. One weapon at a time, each weapon will have a ripple effect on class balance and builds, new traits will need added to account for new weapons. Full credit for creativity though and thought out skills.

Actually the only “traditional” weapon left is the two-handed axe and maybe a halberd (i consider it traditional at least), which i also suggested.

I would consider crossbows and knuckles traditional weapons. Maybe the quarterstaff, too. I would hope they would add katars before fans.

Those are what i had in mind, halberd or spear/pike, Crossbow (viable ranged for guardian?) or Javalin, since they had it in GW1
