Weapon Swapping
I think you answered your own concerns with – “Now obviously it would be overpowered to be able to swap between four sets having twenty skills whenever you wanted”
But I do see where you are coming from.
Personally, as has been mentioned in other threads. I just want to be able to swap weapons out of combat for both the Elementalist and Engineer. Allow us to access that slot would be great. Again, even though it could only be used in a non-combat mode.
Now back on topic. —- Have you tried the elementalist? They do exactly what you are referring to but with the four elements not weapons.
Actually, why not give all professions 4 weapon set slots but only allow the first 2 to be swappable in combat? I use a staff and sword/focus on my mesmer but I carry a greatsword with me in case of situations where it’s needed. It would be great if I could just press a button out of combat to switch to it than open my bag, sort through all my loot to find it and then equip it.
You have to remember that in GW1 we had to set 8 skills first before we went exploring and that the weapons didn’t have skills attached to them and any character could use any weapon.
The only reason for having the 4 weapon swaps in GW1 was kinda how I used it. I always carried 3 staffs with different effects on them along with a bow for pulling On my necro.
Or 3-4 different sword/shield combos on my warrior.
You get the point.
I’d like to see 4 weapon sets for all classes, but I doubt it will happen because of the skills attached to the weapons.
Lady Alexis Hawk – Main – Necromancer
Ravion Hawk – Warrior
In all honesty, IMO, attaching some of those skills to weapons limits playstyle.. I mean why do 95% of guardians use Greatsword? Not simply for the looks alone. Certain weapons carry too much utility on their own. It dictates your playstyle – you don’t determine how you play, the weapons do.
I would love to have my weapon choices on my screen, only two (or one) useable in combat. Selectable out of combat. Whichever are “popped out” are the ones that can be used at that time. I like to switch weapons, not only to keep combat fresh but because different encounters need different weapons. It’s inefficient to have to open up the hero panel or inventory to get them. If you have gotten a lot of drops then you have to search for them amongst all the other stuff.
