So as I’m working my way toward a legendary I recently hit my Precursor. I thought this would causes me some sort of joy. It certainly caused me to feel the rush to the “halfway” point was over, but then I discovered I feel rather let down.
This is a very complicated feeling. One hand I’m very happy about just how hard it is to get a legendary. It really should take a great deal of effort to get one. On the other had, I am in school, have a great deal of homework to do when I’m not, and studying several languages when not doing any of the rest. The simple fact is I won’t be able to see a legendary till Spring at the rate I’m going.
I entirely agree with the length of time it takes to get a legendary. I do NOT think you should change that what so ever.
This suggestion, therefore, is to make a kind of Weekly or Biweekly reward where requiring we complete several dailies.
The Weekly Reward would then allow us to CHOOSE 10 of some sort Crafting Material used in legendary weapons of the list below.
250x [Vicious Fangs]
250x [Vicious Claws]
250x [Vials of Powerful Blood]
250x [Elaborate Totems]
250x [Armored Scales]
250x [Ancient Bones]
250x [Piles of Crystalline Dust]
250x [Powerful Venom Sacs]
I selected the list below since 250x Material X = roughly 77 gold each; multiplied by 8 that is 620 gold. It’s not an insurmountable sum of money. Really I have no problems with this. Again, I think it should take forever to get a legendary.
All I would ask is for some way to reliably get my week’s worth of Material X for my weapon. A Weekly or BiWeekly reward would be a great way to do that.
Another way to do it is that if I HAVE NOT acquired 10 of the crafting material listed below the Reward mechanic I’m suggesting is turned on, where previously or otherwise it would not be available. This way people WITH THE TIME to farming like mad can go right on farming, but don’t gain much benefit from this help to people less time.
