GoldSeller Bots IMO are classed as Scammer’s, so i report them as such, so i don’t think we need a ‘Gold seller’ category, because they are simply trying to scam people. /shrug

Scamming implies they charge you without providing the promised good. I wouldn’t know if that’s the case and neither do I want to find out.

Pretty obvious that most if not all are scamming people, seriously. The whole too good to be true scenario imho!
Category is not important really anyway, as long as Anet get a report they won’t mind if you choose scam or spam, both are equally annoying and both are equally worthy of reporting gold sellers.

They’ve already said that you’re supposed to report as “spamming” for the desired result. Spread the word.

Then this is why it should have it own easily identified entry for reporting gold sellers and levelers. I and i am sure countless others have been reporting them as scammers.
Scammers better fits actual players trying to scam you out of something like item trades and what have you and spammers better fits people who spam chat/mail. Both of which are not really that urgent, however gold sellers and levelers are should be much higher priority so a dedicated report option for them only would help both players and anet, and allowing anet to take care of them much quicker since they won’t have to check it to see if they are just a normal scammer/spammer or indeed someone selling gold or leveling.

Go play AION run by NCSoft. See the hordes of gold spammers and see what this game will become. Because they don’t care. As a matter of fact, I’m pretty sure THEY are doing the gold selling. You can report them all day long, and the same guy is sitting in front of the bank all week long spamming chat all day long. They don’t DO SQUAT about it. It’s so bad you have to clear your block list weekly to make room because it gets full.
Yes would also like a specific option so they know it is an actual gold seller spam report, rather than a player who might be abusing the chat system.
At the moment I seem to be reporting a few of the same people 2 days running, and any help they can get to prioritise banning must be a good thing.

They get proper priority under spamming, because that’s where the team expect the reports to come. It really is the most intuitive option too, because gold spam is still spam. We should report things for what they are, not for what we believe to have priority.
I stopped reporting them, i simply block them because i cba doing the whole report thing
I think gold sellers deserve to have all of their hard work recognized with their own special category.
A separate category would be very helpful. As it is today I had to search for this thread to get any info on how to properly report them.
Hopefully the clear way to report them would lead to more reported and quicker actions against them.
The category should be added both under report player and the report mail dialogue.
Also I guess they don’t ban the chat/mail spammer directly but watch the account for a while to track the accounts where the gold is stored. With a separate category this could be used to very effectively track transactions.

I report gold sellers with"spamming" but if we see obvious bot behavior in a botting spot near an event, what option should I choose?
There should be something like “suspected bot” or something like that.

I’d change the categories to something like this…
Botting
Inapropriate Character Name
Inapropriate Guild Name
Spamming / Mass Advertising
Verbal Abuse
Scamming

Started to block them… So far my list exceeds 20 names of gold scammer/spammers. Not only via mail but now they are using the Map chat channels or around the major hubs like Lion Arch.
Think it is cause and effect, once word gotten out about that stupid 15% tax rate on the TP their has been a massive increase in gold spamming/scamming and apparently ArenaNet has not nothing which gives the impression that they are supporting these gold sellers since it provides them with EASY MONEY from the sales of copies of the game that gets banned and they buy more copies and get them banned again…
Do you really think ANet’s having trouble understanding what the issue is when you report a player with the current system?
Or is the trouble that it’s not a one-click solution?
Seems fine to me.
