I don’t even feel like making new characters because of this, come on Anet…

Should be account bound because few people had the time to do the mad memories event on more then on character.

I’m hoping for something similar at christmas time. Maybe a sack of presents.

It’s as annoying as kitten, to be sure. I’m hoping a lot of soulbound vs. account bound stuff gets reexamined in the future, frankly.

I really would like these to be account bound for sure.

People do care because it has a unikittenfect and it is almost required to stealth run the Obsidian Sanctum in WvW.

Your character was too low level? Um. I helped a level 4 character in Fort Cadence get her last page. I didn’t know her at all, but she asked for help and I was willing to give it. I had a few people help my low level characters get their pages as well. The zones were well populated with people, and not lacking in people willing to help.

I do agree that several things should be account bound rather than soulbound (for instance, gathering tools). But armor pieces are not something that needs to change.

FYI i have it on my main mesmer, but didn’t really have the time to complete it on all my other characters, while doing the other Halloween stuff too, and I’m sure there is players out there that have even more characters

You’re implying that people who missed the event are saying it should be account bound? How does that make any sense; they wouldn’t be able to get it anyway…

The third character I did the event with was level 5; with some help it is doable, but that doesn’t change the fact that characters created after the event can not get a book from one of your other characters. I don’t see how this would be bad in any way, since the book has marginally stats bonuses, and it was possible for extremely low levels to get them while the event was running. Why can’t we just swap them over?

Obviously more back items are on their way. If you want the stats of it as was my goal, just wait for more back items, they’ll come. If you want just the aesthetic of it, that would contradict one of the main goals of limited events.

The store halloween items were account bound, why not make the books account bound also? And who had time to get all the pages on all their characters? What if I wanted to simply change my name/profession/race after the event was over? Nope , sorry, soulbound, try again next year.

i think like some said it will be up again next year , either way i would love to see from now on event items account bound.

It is not enough that we , player , spent time on the event? must be one specific char we got?

I, for one, did get the Mad Memoires (Complete Edition) on all 5 of my characters. As well as completing the Clock Tower on all 5. I wasn’t particularly interested in grinding the Labyrinth or Ascent to Madness, so I did them once on each character, and then moved on.

That said, I don’t think it would have made much difference for it to have been Account Bound rather than Soulbound straight up. Still, I’m sure it will be back again next year.

I would also like to see my Mad Memories to be account bounded.
All one time event items should be like that, the ones from Karka actually were, so why not Mad Memories?
I’d like to delete my character, but I would seriously miss my burning backpack. BTW, ALL items bought in the store during Haloween were account bound.

Agreed, make them account-bound and not soulbound. Being soulbound makes them outliers as far as event items are concerned and restricts you for no apparent reason. Aside from maybe not wanting to give low-levels a near-80 quality back item (which is a null reason because as stated people took low levels through the quest anyway) I see no possible reason they need to be heavily restricted.

I especially want them account-bound so I can actually use the second one you get for doing both parts of the quest. As it is now, I can use one and the other just has to sit in my inventory / bank gathering dust because I can’t pass it on to one of my other characters. And there are obviously tons of other players in the same situation, considering you had to get both to finish the quest.
