Why can't we reset traits when we want?
You can.. you need to buy another manual from the vendor.
EDIT: I THINK! Please someone confirm this..
It does seem rather silly that you need to go to some random guy to retrait. And pay for the privilege on top of that. There isn’t really any reason to punish experimentation the way the traiting system works right now.
You can retrain. But if it costs the same as when you bought them to unlock the tiers, then it’s super expensive to do.
I think retraining should be significantly less or even free. OP has a valid reason but my main reason is so that I can switch up play styles every now and then. For instance maybe playing as a conditionmancer and then switching it up to getting pets and all the pets buffs. It adds variety to playstyles on the same character since you are not just locked into 1 build (if it costs 2 gold to respec then in my book that’s the same thing as not being able to respec at all because there’s no way I’m paying 2 gold for that).
I’m sorry, what? This info is all completely wrong.
To retrait, you have to pay one flat fee that is based on level. It’s 3 silver at level 80. You do this at your trainer.
I remember Mike O’Brien mentioned somewhere that you can reset your Traits at no cost, this would allow players to change play-styles and experiment with different builds in the game; not sure if this is for PvE, or only for PvP — I really hope one of the Dev’s can clarify this.
It use to be in the main Guild Wars 2 Official website, but its been taken out now ever since the redesign.
I’ve been wondering about this also and was about to create a similar topic. This is GUILD WARS we’re talking about: we should be able to experiment with our builds, because this is what this game is all about, imo.
Sena.2761 made a good point — it was free to change your attributes in GW1 (though it use to cost), so why not incorporate that into GW2?
In GW2, you have to go to a trainer and pay 3 silver.
Sad.
