Why is 'time' rewarded differently?
To add to this:
The only other element I can think of that really should be considered is ‘effort’ which is always a hard metric to gauge. But I’ve never met anyone who seriously thinks plinx is harder than running a dungeon with pugs, taking a tower in a good WvW matchup, or winning and sPvP tournament.
You answered your own question.
Time is irrelevent, you all achieved something.
The key phrase here is, you all achieved. How you determine that level of accomplishment is up to you, but the design of the game is not the flaw here because again, you all achieved something for your efforts.

Pugging dungeons is not hard. Simply communicate with people as people and they will nigh always listen.
Why do I have to go to work. Why cant I just play GW2 and have money flow into my bank?
Come one, really? Adding that much money in the game will cause the price of items to inflate drastically, making it pointless to change it in the first place.
