Why not sell Fire Aura in Gemstore?
+1 this would be nice!
customisable cultural armour
I agree, it is an excellent idea. Now if Anet won’t charge 1000+ gems for them …
Are you mad? Your question should have been, why not sell fire auras at the karma vendor? Don’t you think they make enough money as it is? When was the last time any piece of clothing was added to the game’s merchants?
The fact that it requires and upgrades a cultural armor, one that people spend lots of gold on, and that it maintains the racial specifics….. i support this idea.
That said, just because its an upgrade for a 119g armor set/skin, doesnt mean the price shoud be way too high though. Just to voice my thought incase 1k+ gems comes to mind for price

In my mind 800 gems seems like a fair price for the upgrades. Everything else is 800 gems and that’s an ok price
This idea is just brilliant! I think Anet should really read this. Improving t3 culural armors is a good way for us to get even better look, and for them to earn money. Both sides would be happy.
Of course Devs can go deeper and add various improvements to different tiers.

Thanks. I really hope it gets to them.
Why limit it to cultural armor? I love the idea of auras, but I don’t use any of the cultural armors.
They don’t necessarily have to modify the base skins/models for the effects.
+1 if this can apply to all armors

I agree to 800 gems!
Just posted in a similar thread in BLTC forum:
I’d like it to be done using dungeon tokens:
AC: Blue ghostly.
CM: Golden.
TA: Leaves
SE: Red electric.
CoF: Fkitteneen.
HoW: Frost.
CoE: Electric.
Arah: Dark smoke.
All just light particle effects, as we saw. No major changes between types, but a cool way to “upgrade” and customise your armour through gameplay.
If they absolutely NEED to have it be gemstore, then cool. But they could just sell it as a character unlock. As in, you pay gems, and then have the ability to use tokens to customise your armour as much as you want on that character/account.
Why not just add t4 armor vendors with Exotic or Ascended armor?
An interesting idea. Definitely a +1 from me…
How would they implement it though? They might have to add another ‘slot’ for them on each piece of armor. (Kinda like how each piece has a certain number of slots for different colors.)
I don’t know how that would work on the programming end of things, but if they could do that, I’d put money in the Gem Store for it.
… The human race would never have to worry about be oppressed again.”
I think trolls should have their computers smashed. ’Its all part of the game. U mad bro?’
I love this idea and I hope Anet listens. I absolutely fell in love with the Flamekissed armor skin and I’d love to see it re-released for humans in the future. All of the T# armors for every race should have an option to upgrade the skins. I wouldn’t mind paying gems, gold, or karma for that.
Suggestion Sub-Forum? Add your ideas on the ongoing posts there?

The olny thing i wonder is why ac armor doesnt glow in night.

I doubt we’ll get T4 untill an expansion or major content update arrives. Since we have so much left in Tyria to explore I don’t see T4 Cultural anytime soon. On the other hand, giving us Aura upgrades on more Exclusive armor and later even go to other armor like dungeon or nammed, will still feel like we’re getting a new armor look on an already great looking Cultural armors
I too think they should make the effort to update all the Tier 3 Culturals meshes for all races with this kind of design, and sell a Gem Store ingredient in a Mystic Forge recipe to upgrade it, they could use Lodestones and/or other items to create various different elements, not necessarily just Fire. Leave that ingredient as something that’s always available from the Gem Store and people can keep this new, actually rather lovely look on their Humans at least (obviously they’d need to have CHT3L armor to get it again, since the current Flamekissed will get a new design). I could also imagine that the Light Cultural Asuran T3 would look rather nice with a similar effect, as well as several others. Cultural Human T3 Heavy would probably look rather awesome as well.
I agree with what they’re doing on re-designing it. But I also think they can find some use for the situation to not completely trash the design. The design is good. Players are requesting it. And, people can spend Gold to Gems in order to get the ingredient if they hate the idea of them being able to make money.

Yup if ANet did start this trend I would see them adding auras for dungeon armor too, in the game. If they decide to go that way….
They should do something like this with all cultural armors

This will be awesome..+1
Want some…..come get some !

No. Anet is taking the look off the shelf. If the people that bought it originally don’t get to keep it then no one should have it in the future.
If any kind of aura/special effect were to be considered and implemented, I’d rather it stays in the gemstore. Something solely for character customization, watery/icy/stone churning footsteps, golden glow aura, etc. Similar to what those wind/fire/lightning catchers display without the backpiece.
Only thing about it that worries me is it’ll make it look like everyone suddenly has a legendary. And might cause the style to get old, quick.

I suppose it’d work for dungeon themes too.

I actually think it would add more variety to the same armors we wear. Not everyone would want to have Fire aura on lets say T3 Heavy, some would want Ice or Electric, or Gloomy… So instead of having the same T3 Heavy you would see people will the same base armor but different effects or no effect.
As for Legendary armor I asume that they’d have this option too but their base armor would be way more magnificent then any armor we’ve seen so far.

I’m hoping the Legendary Armors are actually Legendary Upgrades that allow us to make our current armor skins legendary, thereby adding a particle effect based on the upgrade recipe, the stat selection option, and giving us the ability to keep our custom armor mixes. It’d be very similar to the OP’s suggestion for cultural armors.
Otherwise, we’re going to see everyone and their pet Quaggan running around in the same legendary armor set and the entire game will look like clones even more than it does with the legendary greatswords now.

Yeah I hope for Legendary upgrades and profession-specific Legendary armor one day. But that day is so far away that I’m not even thinking about it. Lets focus on Cultural first
+1 to this if it applies to all exotic, ascended, and cultural armors (I don’t use cultural armor, but I wouldn’t mind seeing it on some of my exotic armors). A little off topic, but cultural armor should be exotic, too…or at least Tier 3 should (especially considering the price).

Your bring no less gready to demand you get it for free?

I dunno about game merchants, but I do no almost ever 2-4 weeks for a very long time now, I have gotten access to free weapons, multiple back pieces, multiple head pieces, gloves, and shoulder pieces. Any other silly question?

Heh for 120G they really should be exotics… especially with the Ascended armor incoming
Excellent idea, I’d support that.
+ I support this suggestion, will make cultural armor more diverse and really interesting.
+1 – agree, crap, here you go 15 characters.

Yup this is what I’m aiming for, to fill the gap between legendary looks and Cultural updated looks.
