One thing very unique to GW2 is the fact that there is no ‘exclamation point’ questing. You can level via WvW, world completion or meta events, However, why can’t we have some old fashioned quests?
Obviously GW2 tried to avoid the old fashioned KILL X COLLECT X quests (albeit hearts are kind of like that), but I would personally love some story quests, that have less to do with kill X and more of explore and talk to people. There are so many people you can stop and talk too who you could easily volunteer to help. The norn planning to drag his friend out to avenge his brother by killing Sons of Svanir, the construction workers that need tools, all the asuras who are trying to finish experiments to no avail, why can’t we help them instead of just saying ‘goodbye’ and running off? The only NPCs you actually get something from talking too are the ones who start meta events, and then they start over, and over, and over. It’d be nice to help someone avenge their family or find their lost keepsakes and to have them remember you instead of losing it in the same place.
Honestly I’d like it just to be more immersive and make it less frustrating to talk to interesting NPCs, so the reward aspect isn’t something I’m very concerned about. Perhaps a few coin and karma, obviously no experience, maybe some food or a random T1 dye. All completely optional content, but something people who are interested in roleplaying or in the storyline of GW2 and their character could do.
