Guild Wars 2

I have fond memories of playing 2v2’s and 3v3’s in WoW Arena, back when Blizz tried to balance pvp and it was part of the MLG. WoW was in a constant struggle to balance (when I quit, almost every team ran rogue-mage-priest or a variant in the top) but I think GW2 would do very well in terms of balance in 2v2 and 3v3 compositions.

What do you guys think?

well arena was in gw1 also, and i liked it. If they would bring some old gw1 pvp styles back, it would be more than awesome…

Random arena 4v4 ( as it was last man standing )

SPvP is just boring.. u leave when u want you join in middle.. oh cmon… kinda ok for casuals but… constantly leaving and joining is like boring…

For example you are 3 vs 2, and you are winning 2 vs 3… you get score like 300 / 50 and than you get balanced to the loser team when players in enemy team leave… than you lose all your effort and not getting winning bonus…

happened to me soooo many times at night when play rate is low -.-

For the late comers, GW1 had 4v4 random. There were no objectives other than defeat the other team while you try and survive. I found it to be the best aspect to GW1, it was more fun and at the same time could be more stressful than any other environment.

There is no real reason to have done away with this arena type format other than the current team at Anet didn’t like it. Much of GW1 was killed off by the “we don’t like it” dev team currently employed.

it would also make the competitive side of the game more popular, since it’s a lot easier finding a couple of good players among your friends to join arena with. Finding 4 players is exponentially harder, hence the limited number of competitive friends.
