WvW Progression
-Let people earn ranks in WvW – you have your wvw achievement tab tracking kills, points defended, and points conquered. that’s enough of a rank
-Each rank can have a distinctive utility or elite skill. – NO. again this bs suggesting people doing certain things get advantage such unique content/skills over people not interested in doing this.
-Only one Rank 1 per Homeworld less people rank 2 etc.
-Chance to someone dethrowned from rank1 like Aion ranking.
-Give every player statistics alla Battlefield3 so the can see their performance.
Sounds entirely pointless to me.
-Give Guilds a purpose to Defend the Keeps. – they do have a purpose, have you even played wvw?
How do you earn ranks?
Do you need to play 24/7 to be rank 1?
If it is based on total activity (kills\defending\capturing) and dying algoritm you would have people dont want to die anymore and always running away when battles get to hard.
But ranking like DAOC had , so a website where you could see for each server top ranking in best guilds, and top 5 rankings most kills without dieing, most kills, most points etc.. Would be nice..
With after each weak a reset of ranks and points (last week top players get this week the titels with the bonnuses).. You could give all the top 5 players and all the members of best guild(so most average points scored (total points/members)) get some kinda titel. Maybe placing statues of copies of those players in Lions arch..
But the bonusses(elite skills) should be not to overpowering.. You dont want to make good players even more better. So they can even more easier distroy an opponent.
Like for best guild bonus. One banner you can summon and carry around. Only the guild leader can summon it once every hour. And only one can be active. Someone else can carry it. (5 abbilities on the banner are all AOE Boon and remove condition abbilities that only will hit guildies in range) But if the banner carrier is below 50% of his health he will drop the banner. While dropped enemies can hit it.. Banner has only a small amount of HP (like 10000) .So one of the guildies needs to pick it up fast.
For the top 5 players the elite skill shouldnt replace the normal elite skill.. so not in the 10th slot.. But be more like a tool belt skill (F5). It should only work in WvW and should be on very large timers (+hours) or need to be charges first by killing X people or getting X points before you can use it again.

Something on these lines would be great. I also dont wont skills to be overpowered and destroy the balance of the fight. The F5 key would be a good addition in order to not lose
your elite skill. I also support the idea of being an aoe Boon or cleance with a long cooldown.
As for rank 1 would be the one the the most captures but not kills.
I support the titles, but not the skills. The whole point of Guild Wars is that when you reach max level and get your exotic gear (which isn’t too difficult), all the stats are the same. All the skills are the same. All the race elite skills are actually less powerful than the profession skills. It’s about putting players as close to the same level as possible, so that in the end it comes down to skill, not extra abilities gained from doing well.
Titles is obviously a very cool idea, and perhaps a unique commander tag and armor appearance would be cool. But only things that affect appearance, nothing that actually affects skills and the outcome of battles.
