WvW Server subforums
If handled well, then these WvW subforums can be pretty much safe place to discuss only in between your server.
At the end, ArenaNet has the database on what server we are actually on. So it should be easy to allow you enter only one specific subforum.
well, yea..good idea..
Private strategy and conversations should be held on secure forums where prying eyes (“I’ll swap for a week and let you guys know what’s going on!!…”) can’t see. Find a guild on your server willing to host an alliance chat that requires registration and such; and even this isn’t foolproof… eventually someone will get in and let your secrets out.
However, a TierX forum would be great. A forum for each tier that week; that way you’re not restricted to just a single topic to discuss things across servers.
I don’t feel that it’s practical to try and hide the subforums from other servers.
Server transfers and many other methods exist to bypass any kind of protection ANet could possibly implement.
I think my proposal is not designed for “secret tactics”, but instead:
- Info for new players, how to contact WvW Guilds etc.
- Social chat.
Each server’s subforum could have a sticky link to the Tier Matchup Thread for each week. This is probably easier to maintain than trying to make new subforums for every matchup or swap servers around for each tier subforum.
- the address of any VOIP servers
- WvW guilds that are recruiting
- training events that are being organised
- discussing various commanders and other prominent players
- random social chat, to foster greater sense of community.
- players from enemy servers can drop by and congratulate/troll/smacktalk
Most WvW oriented servers have their own sites set up for all of the above.

Yes please. I’d love server specific sub-forums.

A quick google search yields nothing. How would someone find these pages? I guess you have to be told about them by someone else in WvW?
If you are really suggesting that they are a viable or desirable alternative to official subforums, then at least they should be linked in a sticky here or something.
I suppose there is a school of thought saying that such things should be invitation only and not open to the unwashed masses.
Hmm, I agree with server subforums, in fact, I suggested that myself some month or so ago. (Maybe at a bad hour or something?)
And there’s another thread about it too
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Server-Forums-5
I’m not sure if the search tool for the forums is broken, but people seem to start new threads about the same old same old.
Still, a good suggestion and I’m all for having own sub-forums for servers (rather the kind that other servers just can’t see.)
People who can’t tend to call the opponent troll, scream something utterly incomprehensible
and finally result to personal insults.
