hey all
this post is mostly for Arenanet and to try get them to wise up to their player base.
someone in the Seafarer’s Rest Community made a survey about what guilds focus on when it comes to GW2. here is a summary of information that the survey provided:-
out of 258 survey’s from guilds across all servers
192 of the guilds do PvE
177 of the guilds do WvWvW
93 of the guilds do sPvP
14 of the guilds do RP
150 of the guilds are social

A large amount of guilds have a focus on World Vs World Vs World and there are also large alliances/communities that have developed since the beta of Guild Wars 2. Arenanet stated that sPvP is their flagship of the game but later stated that you did not think WvWvW would be so popular.
the main reason for this post is to try and get Arenanet to give WvWvW the updates it deserves. Here is some changes that i have in mind that i would like to see.
WvW Maps – i do not know the reasons behind having all borderlands looking exactly the same. this just allows boredom to set in, how about redesigning 2 of the borderlands to have a unique look/design and also introducing a 5th map in a similar style to Eternal Battlegrounds but bigger. By introducing a 5th map would also help with the server queue times.
Eternal Battlegrounds needs to have a rethink because 1 team has an more of an advantage where all thier forts/camps are close together (green team) while another team has more disadvantage where some of the forts/camps further apart (red team)
Rewards – currently some of the WvWvW players feel that defending a fort is, in a way, a waste of time mainly if the fort is not upgraded and feel that they should not defend it and just retake it after. the 3 mins cooldown on “repel enemy attackers” is too long and should at least be 1 min 30 seconds for towers/keeps/castles. this is just in my opinion.
Other reward should be introduced that can be purchased via Badges of Honor
Guild Rank System – a rank system like top 3 guilds per server that performed the best would be a nice little addition. this could be determined by
Defending – 5 pts per successful repel
Siege Usage – 1pts per siege weapon successfully built 0pts if destroyed before build completion
Capturing Objectives – 10 pts for keeps, 5 pts per tower, 1 pts per supply camp
Dolyak & Sentry – 1pts per dolyak kill, 1 point for capturing sentry
points should only be rewarded once, for example if a guild has 30 people defending and another guild has 5 people defending then both guilds will receive only 5 points per successful repel. same goes for all other points categories
a reward for this could be some influence to all the guilds that participate in WvW. amount of influence depends on their guild performance
Guild Upgrades – Guild Waypoint, cost 10,000 influence, lasts 6 hours, build time 1 week, only 1 can be built at a time, cannot speed up the upgrade. Can only be placed in WvW towers under your server control and cannot be used if the tower is being attacked and only available to the guild that places it.
Fixes – way points needs to be fixed so that they cannot be used when contested and between the “repel enemy attackers” dynamic events and while the fort is still under attack
Enemy Veteran Guards spawning in forts needs to be fixed and can cause way points to become contested even when not being attacked by enemy or Quaggans.
I apologize for the rather large post but i believe i say this on behalf of a large part of the Guild Wars 2 player base. World Vs World Vs World needs to have the same care and attention to it just like every other aspect of the game.
