So admittedly I don’t know a lot on how world exp is handed out. But I feel that world exp should be handled differently depending on what server you’re attacking. For instance let’s say that 1st place currently is server Bubbles, 2nd is Spoon, and 3rd is Truck.

Spoon and Truck should both get more world exp for attacking Bubbles than for attacking each other. And Bubbles should get more world exp for attack Spoon rather than Truck.

I feel that there really isn’t anything to discourage 2 servers picking on the 3rd place server. This could be something to help discourage that. Also on a purely reward basis.. shouldn’t you be rewarded with more exp for killing the stronger server?

If you mean 1st place in points during the match so that it encourages the other 2 servers with less point to hit the one with the most points, sure. So at any moment that say dog server pulls ahead in points on monday, kitten and squirrel are encouraged to attack dog until kitten or squirrel gains more points that monday so that is become more WXP encouraged to then attack the point leader.

If you mean the leader based on who won the last match, not into that.

Something similar has already been made. You get more WXP for killing enemies that have a higher rang than you. So killing an attacker when you’re an intruder you get more WXP than killing another intruder.

Hah, I was about to post the exact same idea, but decided to check the first 50 pages of the suggestions forum first. (Glad I went on to check the first 57!)

This is a great idea.

It would do a great deal to balance out the matchups. To prevent deliberate losing I’d like to see a wxp reward for the winning server at the end of the week aswell. (The next time you step into wvw you get the reward for last weeks victory if you had one, regardless of wether you were active or not)

Also, this should count the current total score. Not the amount of points held at that moment. Nor should it be based on the actual wvw rank of the server or last weeks performance.

Your reward should be multiplied by the enemy’s score and divided by your own. Also, it should only apply to actual objective events, rather than killing players.

Anet needs to do something about balancing WvW, and this wouldn’t do much. Like what GreenNeko said, something similar already exists and is irrelevant, most players don’t play WvW for the XP

It just gives a good incentive to attack that blue tower instead of a red one. And ofcourse Anet needs to do something about balancing, but this is a small step in the right direction. At the moment attacking the server with the lowest amount of points is just the best strategy. And this is making bad matchups even more terrible.

The higher world exp for killing generals instead of assaulters is by no means a good comparison. You don’t really hunt for generals, you just happen to cross their path. Deciding on what borderland to attack, that is not something you do by chance.

But I agree, most people don’t play WvW for the XP. I guess they could make a system where you score bonuspoints whenever you take a tower or keep from the top server. (Perhaps there should be a fixed percentage of points in the lead to start this ‘buff’)

Adding extra World XP (I suggest 33%) to capturing harder targets does look like a solid and fair first step to me.
