WvWvW Alt F4 player are rampage !!
Technically, he just needs to do F12 then click char select.
If this matter continues to goes on, what would happened in WvWvW if the majority player decided to simply F12 or Alt F4 to get off the hook,
so in here I suggest every log off had to be set a count down timer. To avoid abuse of F12 and alt F4.
I’ve said it before, and said it again…games with PvP need to institute a hardened rule. No instant dispersal of the character. If you quick log, yoru character stands there for a full minute of total punching bag time. If you get killed, oh well.
Yes it is harsh to people that might go LD and then try to get back real quick (and some of us have had this happena nd can get back before even a minute passes) but it is better to go this route than allow instant logging.

I was going to suggest that, but in a less harsh way lol. But yeah runescape did a good job of this when they had the wildy (the fun version from years ago…). I don’t know how it would work if the player does the F12→ Char select screen except for give the last person that hit the character (or the one that did the most damage) a kill when the person does that. But having them stand for 30secs-1min after logging out is a good idea, or do the method above of giving the kill to someone.
Yes it sounds like a problem but I don’t think having a straight extra 10-15 seconds logged on is the solution. Some people generally get disconnected while playing and would not have willingly quit like that, they don’t deserve to be punished for something not in their control.
Perhaps they could have a lifetime honor system where quitting while under attack in wvw earns points against and after a certain amount that extra time logged in thing will come into effect. There would also need to be a way to clear those points but that would need to be thought out so that people don’t just clear those points and then abuse it again.
To be honest though I haven’t had this happen to me on vabbi, people who are losing a fight from me either try to run away in game or fight to the death and same vice versa, haven’t had a single quit.
It is possible to distinguished the reason of the game being shut down (unless they are handling their connections in a weird way). If the players are disconnected then it will not do the extra seconds or instant kill giveaway, but if they forcefully closed the game then that’s when the fix starts.

That’s easy to get around. People will just manually unplug their Ethernet cable or disable wifi to be disconnected without penalty. The solution is to take away the incentive to do so. Either make it so deaths in pvp don’t damage gear or disconnects while in combat do damage gear.
this is one reason why so many mmorpgs have a counter where the characters just stand there for 10-15 seconds before the character actually disappears. this is particually important in pvp oriented games. i don’t understand why something like a 10 second countdown wasn’t added.
You hear of this happenning often enough that they may as well make the character stand there for a full minute (aka guarenteed death).
