I’ve dipped my toes into WvW, and think it’s potentially brilliant – but after a few chats and thoughts with a fellow player I work with, I thought I’d post my ideas; Please feel free to flame if they’ve already been covered:
1) Repair bills: No.
People who come in with damaged armour leave with the same damage (and assume the same damage received scaling). People who come in with undamaged, leave that way. It’s a bad by-product of zerging that player A will attempt their quota of kills against a much stronger zerg force and generate a stupid repair bill.
Please don’t tell me it’s anti-bot, that isn’t an argument we should need to enter in to.
2) Paying gold for siege weapons: Bad.
Why not let players choose to buy these with unused karma/dungeon tokens too? Then you would get more WvW-dedicated players back into PvE during their downtimes to ‘earn’ siege wep purchases. I’d happily blow my current karma on these, and work up a + balance to buy more.
3) Marking: after reaching WvW ‘centre-point’, it’s nearly impossible at the moment to locate any fighting. Is it possible to mark Allies on the big map please?
