Please, make WvW progression account wide, as you have made with sPvP progression and achievement system.
I’m really enjoying of playing multiple characters, but I hate to grind WvW skills at every of them to be viable.

Possible solutions with current system:
* Just add together progressions from the every character at account and remove all learned skills
* Make account progression bar more wider. Instead of 5k points per level to, for example, 7k points or so
* Recalculate WvW-skill points based on new account progression and new WEXP needed per lvlup

I would have disagreed with this IF the WvW ranks ended with “Legend” as the highest attainable level. But since the ranks go on and on and on up to Grand Poobah or whatever, then I do agree it would be nice to have all my character’s WvW experience to account toward the title and to the WvW abilities. I don’t have decades to reach the max, but I would at least try if I know I can use my variety of characters to work towards it.

I really hope we will se united levels in WvW cause it makes me hate WvW – leveling each character is out of the question after i made 9 of them for variety of play stiles.

“The goal for this system is to ensure that players always have something to constantly work towards. We want each character to have a unique experience in WvW, so World Ranks and WXP are all character-based values rather than account-based. We believe that in the long run, this will actually help incentivize players to experiment with various different ability builds for each character. It also creates a long term goal for players of multiple characters, as they can strive to rank up multiple characters to help show off their dedication to WvW.

I hold them to their design goals, none of which they have achieved with the system. The Rank should be account bound and feature a badge similar to world completion to indicate rank everyone can see (not just enemies), traits should be character based, classified into groups “Defender”, “Assaulter”, “Support” and characters are restricted to only one group (resetting costs 100 Badges of Honor), and trait points accumulated should be account bound.

Doing that achieves the goal of experimenting with different ability builds (since as it stands we all have the same build at different stages of progress in competition). This also achievies the goal of showing off our dedication to WvW.

I demand nothing more than the team achieve the stated design goal. The words they used to explain the goals of the WxP system and the reality of the WxP system simply don’t mesh…like at all…none of it was implemented nearly well enough to hit any of the marks they themselves set.

In fact all players (experienced ones, sure) using nearly the same WvW-specs.

Also, "in long run" you will have ALL abilities, so it will be incredibly good to make WvW-system account wide.

And, as you can see from this thread, people hate to grind always the same and always big numbers of the Wexp to obtain always the same skills at the every of their toon. Not for "experiment" (lol, who can imagine, that someone will exping 100+ Wlvls just for test of the skill description?) but to be more powerful at the battlefield.

All of it shows just not too good WvW-skills system design and account bounding will make it a bit better.

Couldn’t they make WXP account wide but still allow each character on the account to spend that pool differently?

That way we aren’t facing the daunting task of leveling up each character with the crazy WXP curve we have (and the incentive to just stick to one character), but it keeps some of their idea of having each character with a unique WvW identity.

I would go for a simple system that gives you a boost to wxp gains on every character that is below your highest ranked character.

Have one at rank 100 then every character who is less than that will rank up faster. Bypass the 100 and lose the buff but now the 100 gains it.

This would allow you to rank up other characters faster but would only aid in obtaining the ranks you have already gained

Since there is no LVLcap, so you will able to obtain every single WvW-skill and no any needs to separate Wskills by characters.

But you will need to exp EVERY character anyway even if they made +500% boost! This is equal to "grind". Grind = fail.

And having every single thing unlocked on every character will make it a very hostile place for new comers. Wvw would slowly die out until only the elite maxed out remain.

If you want new blood to continue to flow into a game designed to go on for years you need a feeling that they can compete. By having individual character progression you maintain this longer as new players don’t feel as hopelessly behind the curve. Having to level each character is part of the mmo world. I have yet to see one that puts you at Max level with the best gear and all skills as soon as you start. That doesn’t instantly equal grind. And just like in the rest of the game with achievement upping xp gains, yes you still have to level new characters but it will take less time. And with things like the bday boosters you can catch up fast

Not. There is a lot of players, who playing only at single character and they r already very strong at WvW.
Most of newcomers coming only for PvE and skins.
And if someone decides to change it’s mainchar he will never come to WvW, coz his new char equal to noob - without any skill. Changing mainchar not so easy for WvWers, it’s stop us from enjoying of the game.
So current system destroying WvW.

This is worst way to keep player base. Instead of making new interesting content they force us to GRIIIIIIIIIIIND!

Yes please.
The way it is right now is not alt friendly. I HATE having to pick one character to play WvW because I don’t have enough time to level all of my alts (their WvW rank, I mean).
Sometimes I really feel like playing WvW with one of my alts, but my main is the one that has some of the WvW abilities unlocked. Therefore, because I want to be useful to my server, I use my main character. My main character gets even more WvW exp and the gap between my main and my alts grows larger. I hate that.

It’s not alt friendly, once again we a see a system that makes it better if you only use one toon.

It’s just about grind and making you spend longer in the game.

‘We want each character to have a unique experience in WvW’, this statement makes me laugh. You spec into the most useful lines first, like siege bunker, guard leech/fortitude lines etc. Then somewhere down the track you spec into oil mastery…. you focus on filling the same lines over and over on your different toons.

A warrior, a guardian, and an elementalist walk into an open field…
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”

I don’t see why PvP rank is account-wide while WvW rank is soulbound. I definitely enjoy these ranks being account-wide, so +1 for WvW rank being account-wide.

I want world vs world to be acount bound also. Just increase the exp needed to level in world vs world to 25k each level, old exp to level was 5k. I think the increase exp needed to level will balance it out. Just reset everyones’ wexp and rank in world vs world, your new rank will be based on the total wexp all your account’s characters’ earned. I hate doing stuff many times.

Or maybe if acount bound you need 7.5k to level, once you get to

silver 12.5k
gold 15k
platinum 17.5k

Would be nice, but Anet has already stated that they have no intention for making this account bound. So unless they change there mind I will keep playing the same toon in WvW.
