lol. I feel your pain cheshirefox, but that particular achievement isn’t much easier even for high-tier servers.
On a low-tier server, I suppose the biggest problem is getting a sizable group to assault SM at all.
On a high-tier server, the biggest problem is that the groups are so sizable that SM becomes one epic lag-fest.

I just wanted to hop in and say I’m a fairly avid WvW player and still have 0% completion on most of the achievements (yakslapper being one of them) and at my current rate, I’ll only get the player kills one after another 9 years of playing. I can tell you without a doubt that I will not be playing this game in 9 years. As for yakslapper, I just hit 1000. So I’ll have it done in 1000 years.
The whole system around the WvW Titles needs to be redesigned, not just only reworked by reducing the amounts to a humanous amount…
All WvW titles should work like a shared realm achievement.
Means:
Whenever someone of your realm kills a yak, while you are on the same map, that yak kill will count towards your achievement too.
If you go meanwhile conquer a tower and a supply spot, these things will count for that player too, which killed for you Yaks meanwhile.
This way would increase Anet heavily the whole “WE-FEELING” of a server/realm that fights together for something and WvW would become alot more social and fun, if practically all players would help out each other with all their activities they do successfully, while fighting together for their own realm.
With such a system would things speed up a little.

The other things that have to be reworked in generally are the way of how to obtain points for the titles and the amount of points you can gain towards the titles.
The titles must get rid of this silly full of grind mentality, that every successful activity means only just 1 single laughable point towards the title.
Its alot easier in WvW to conquer something, than to defend something with all this zerging in GW2, which can quickly overrun the maps without having a chance to defenda place long enough to get rewarded for even trying it ….
This results in players rather fleeing, than defending their bases, because why try to defend a lousy base, if it brings you nothing towards the title as you were unable to hold it for the required time to get 1 single silly point…
There absolutely need to be more ways of howe to obtain points towards the titles, than doing only 1 and the same activity unendlessly again and again and again…

I know, certain mechanics are highly unlikely changeable and somehow needed, but its clearly mysterious, why alot of your so called “grindless MMO” always turns out to become such a grindfest in so many things, that players basically CAN only think that Anet epicly failed kitten their own words of their manifesto that you start to think, that their words were nothing, but hot air or lies from the begin on just so that the game would sell better (typical marketing tricks to promise alot and hold then only the half of what has been promised..the money is yours still ….)
So, back to topic…
Ranks of Yakslapper should get reduced to something like this:
Rank 1: = 10 Yaks
Rank 2 = 100 Yaks
Rank 3 = 250 Yaks
Rank 4 = 500 Yaks
Rank 5 = 750 Yaks
Rank 6 = 1000 Yaks
Rank 7 = 1500 Yaks
Rank 8 = 2500 Yaks
Rank 9 = 5000 Yaks
Rank 10 = 10000 Yaks
Rank 11 = 15000 Yaks
Rank 12 = 20000 Yaks
Rank 13 = 25000 Yaks
Rank 14 = 30000 Yaks
Rank 15 = 35000 Yaks
Rank 16 = 40000 Yaks
Rank 17 = 45000 Yaks
Rank 18 = 50000 Yaks
Thats way more than enough for this title if it younts as as social realm title, where you would get points also if someone else killed a Yak for you for your realm, while you fought on the same map.
This together with multiple ways of obtaining points
Say for example this schedule:
Kill a Yak self = 3 points
An other Realm Player kills a Yak = 1 Point
Kill those Yaks at Supply Spots = 5 Points
An other Realm Player kills a Supply Spot Yak = 2 Points.
Kill 5 Yaks within XX Minutes = Bonus of 10 Points
An other Realm Player kills 5 Yaks within XX Minutes = Bonus of 5 Points
A Group Member killed a Yak = Group Bonus of 1 Point
A Group Member killed a Supply Spot Yak = Group Bonus of 2 Points
A Commander killed XX Yaks within XX Minutes = 25 Bonus Points to all of the Realm
Thats the way how anet could speed up things and make those achievements massively less of a grindfest.
The same way like I did here with Yakslapper for example , the same way should Anet rework all the other WvW titles. In brief:
- Reduce the amounts of required points significantly down, i. E. no 6 digit number stuff or higher. Max 50000
- Change the way of obtaining points into one, that supports group/social playing by giving out points for the realm instead for the single player
- Introduce alot more ways of how to obtain points for the titles with options, that bring in more, than just one sigle silly point. Single points should be something, if someone other does for you an easy task… doing the task self should earn you more points always naturally.
Positive Sideeffect: The Ranks for WvW would get an increase, so that Main WVW Players would get rewarded more for their efforts in WvW by getting more Achievement Points!!
