Armors cost too many tokens. It’s not the HORROR that it was back in beta, and it is, as you’ve defined it “more reasonable”. But it’s still unreasonable.

What’s worse, to get the specific set we want, we have to do that ONE specific dungeon, which gets real boring real fast.

We’re swinging swords here. Again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And we get 1 item. Then we start over for the next item.

I’ve got two items from one set now and I’m already too sickened by the dungeon to go in again. It’s plain boring at this point. My group is still eagerly awaiting the “fun” mechanics that are to come in dungeons, because right now we’re slapping NPCs with rubber gloves until their huge HP is down and it’s not much of a challenge once you learn their attack animations and patterns. It’s a major improvement even now in comparison to beta, but there’s just too much repetition involved to enjoy it in it’s current state.

Ask me if I care about some players feeling the need to show dedication to the game by grinding. Ask me if I think that dungeon rewards should come after showing boredom resistance instead of skill.

Here’s a crazy idea: 4 explorable paths, 4 runs for 2 pieces. People should do dungeons for FUN, not getting the set they want. I’m using my gametime (which I could use to ENJOY the game) to run the same dungeon over and over to get the set I really want. I have been avoiding other explorable mode dungeons (which would breathe some life into this whole mess) because they don’t give me the set I want and I don’t have the time to do all of them. My friends want the same set I want. So when I say “Let’s go do explorable mode” they immediately want to do Caudecus Manor, OBVIOUSLY, because they want the set, no matter the number of times we already did it… Does that sound fun to you?

By the way, me and a friend had the crazy idea of starting AC explorable at level 35 and trying to get the set by the time we reach level 60. Ha, ha, so silly of us.

Based on the horror stories like this, I’ve never bothered with any dungeon in explorable mode, even if I could find a group, which has been a serious challenge to say the least.

I can’t imagine based on the overwhelmingly negative feedback that these costs and lackluster mechanics are getting that there aren’t changes in the works.

As a player (even one who doesn’t DO dungeons at the moment) I would love some feedback from designers BEFORE the changes.

Not a couple of sentence that amount to, “There ’ya go kids!” after the fact, particularly when the after isn’t significantly better than the before.

I know they’re busy trying to make the game as close to perfect as possible, but it would be nice to be a fly on the wall for some of their internal conversations about these things.

As it is, unless something is a clear bug or exploit, the communication is awfully sparse (although MILES better than many other companies post launch).

In summary: 50 runs of the same instance as the ONLY option to get the ONLY “upgrade” in the game: armor skins.

Um… no. If the tokens were for all armor sets, running all the dungeons and choices a few times each to get the pieces we want might feel worth it, but even then what are we talking about realistically? A couple hundred hours of doing the same thing over and again for a skin?

It still seems out of whack to me, but maybe I just don’t get it. To my mind, 2 hours each doing 50 (actually different!) different things makes more sense.

I mean, lets say there were theoretically, only two currencies in the game. Gold and Karma. And, theoretically, you got those as rewards for everything you did. Jump puzzles to minipet fights.

And let’s say theoretically that you could use either or both to purchase anything from any vendor in the game.

What would it hurt?

I’m honestly puzzled by the multiple currencies and closed-shop mentality of the vendors.

Why was it put in?

I feel a new topic coming…

You started out strong then you went all Junior Law School on it and lost all momentum. Keep “grinding” away, nobody cares you don’t have a full set of exotics 3 weeks after launch.
