You made something wrong
Can you answer the questions? By the way, I have lvl 80 warrior, all quests made, and this for 2 weeks, playing 2-3 hours a day. After L2, PvE and PvP here are so easy. In fact GW2 is fun, but after 2 weeks it starts to become boring like every rpg.

The entire design around Guild Wars 2 is to allow people to play together without creating insular groups such as parties. Many would consider this an even more social approach than other games as it seeks to include those who would normally be loners in other MMORPGs.
So no, it’s not going to happen. If you’d detail your issues with the chat box, perhaps those ideas could have merit, but as far as I can see it the only “problem” with the chatbox is that combat in GW2 is so much more active than most games that you simply do not have time to use it. As far as I’m concerned, that’s a good thing and can only be solved by integrated voice chat, which has numerous complications and is unlikely to happen.
In general, you seem to be saying many things are bad or useless without explaining why you think so.
Ha:) more active combat, don’t be ridiculous. Go in Olympiad in L2 vs Hero, and you will see what means rly active combat if you don’t lose it in first 30 sec. In fact I use chat panel here in PvP but most of other players can’t. So you say in this game you don’t need party, group, team – but it’s very social? This is nonsense. How it’s social if you don’t need a group, do you know what social means?
I agree that PvE equip should be usable in sPvP.
But the rest I don’t agree with.
And are you saying that you can’t talk in combat?
How many ppl use chat panel in game in combat? It’s hard cause after Enter you automatically go in game mode. And the chat panel itself needs improvement. It will be better with few fixed windows, not two. See how it’s made in L2, there it is far more usable. There is trade channel too – very important social function.
Ikcen obviously there is no right answer that will satisfy you. As for your suggestion, gw2 is a very tactile game, if you want to play and chat you can use ventrillo, or teamspeak, or multiple variants of voice chat. Typing in chat during combat is impractical, but common sense should tell you that. As for trade chat, whats the point when you have an AH, trade chat is used frankly like map chat in some zones by stingy players to avoid AH fees. As for being unsocial well thats entirely upto you, I always chat in events or with my guild mates etc So I am not sure what your doing wrong?

I agree the chat panel needs improvement.
But I regularly chat in combat, but I type kinda fast. But it’s better to play with voice communication.
As the above poster said, a trade channel is pointless, there is the trading post for trading.

I Do very much not agree with this. Spare time or gold should not have an impact on sPvP type of gameplay. Especially not in a game where you can make gold from real money.
Its currently the perfect vision and implementation of BG type gameplay. Everyone is on equal footing from day one. Bragging rights come from gear looks (if you enjoy using those looks)
It also solves many balancing issues and helps the devs balance PvP from class to class to bring them all in line.
What they could do is implement rings, ears and cloaks at the pvp vendor for more options. But it isnt really needed since the amulet does the job pretty well.
Using PvE gear in PvP is motivator for playing PvE. I have hero lvl 80, with good gear, all quests made, so why I shall play PvE? Think a little more before write about disbalances. And trade channel is needed for sure. Here trading system is incredibly poor. In L2 there is auction system too, but it’s antisocial, cause traders don’t communicate.

Why would there be any balancing issues? In sPvP you have access to all types of weapons/armor all in exotic, with any stats.

I’m not sure what your really want from the trade system? After x-amount of years of kamadan this is a welcome change, Dealing with player traders is rubbish, I’m glad to take that out of the way to mitigate the scamming, and the poor player-2-player interactions, those sort of player trade chat channels are geared towards the seller not the buyer. With the current system we take away in some respects the random element, we don’t have to haggle or get conned, we can see what value an item has, we can buy it directly, make offers or sell our own stuff. It covers all you need in a trade system.
That said I am all for the ability to create custom chat channels as the lack of alliances makes it difficult to keep in contact with friends in other guilds.
What I’m talking about is communication and motivation. If I’m a new player in this game, I shall be motivated to communicate and socialize, cause this is what makes a good game community.
Surely your motivation to communicate and socialise is simply because you enjoy it. I really can not understand this odd mentality of the game having to shove you into situations. You want to talk to people, go right a head! Join a guild make friends talk to each other have fun together, make an impromptu party without even having to invite each other as you just run together chatting as you go while you have common goals.
While i can see you are easily able to be anti-social if you want to, this is a good thing! Not everyone is chatty everyday, I know I can be a right grumpy moose some days and still being able to play the computer game I enjoy with out my mood affecting others is good design.
