At leasts it tells you the Mage is the bigger threat so you should take care of it before the Illusionist :P

We have the same in PvP yet we still have the feature. Look, Combat Logs are terribly cluttered and finding what killed you takes ages.
Since the feature already exists in game, it can’t be a huge deal to implement.
In fact the “you died to….” feature is really somewhat standard in MMOs nowadays.
I suppose this would be one of many things that I wouldn’t mind being implemented, as long as it were optional. While some people would find it interesting and would like to see a breakdown of what lead to their death, others would get tired of it quite quickly and just want to get back into the action in PvP and WvW.
Sadly, game devs never seem to like the idea of adding togglable features.
I’d be very happy to see something like that in PvE, especially dungeons when some abilities sometimes hit 10+ times in a row and fill the whole window. Some description of the abilities might help building a decent strategy too.
The way the feature is presented in League of Legend is pretty decent. Basically, there’s a semi-transparent button on the screen to turn on the recap. If you’re not interested, don’t click it, it’ll be as if the option isn’t there.
Use the opportunity to make that window in PvP optional. I can’t stand clicking it away each time.
