add fishing and other mini games
Anet said they intentionally didin’t add any fish or fishing content but they will add in it future
Same goes for mini games. You have keg brawl
I would like to see mini-games like poker (or a Tyrian equivalent), archery contests, fishing, etc in the main cities to give people a reason for spending time in them rather than Lion’s Arch.
There already is a shooting gallery in DR but it’s disabled at present, as is the keg brawl.
as is the keg brawl.
no.

no.
I think I meant the bar brawl.
I don’t see how poker sounds like fun in the aspect of the game. There are plenty of poker sites to play at if you want to play cards.
Keg brawl doesn’t sound like fun either. Maybe I’m just the odd player.
Fishing absolutely! Glad to read this is going to be implemented in the future.
I’m not sure what other types of mini games would be appropriate, but it should fit with the general theme of the game.

Maybe not poker specifically, but a game that brings a group together and gets people talking in the main cities.
I’d love a poker-like activity in GW2. Make players bet coins and play against each other. Have “poker” tables at bars around the world where you can enter and play, because right now there’s no reason to go to those bars/inns etc. except for RP and buying drinks for the drinking achievement.
Here is the suggestion I made a few days ago

man imagine poker but you are playing with real people and your bets are in game money that you earned. yea its not real money but hell it could still be fun
I enjoy fishing mini games in any game that has them. GW2’s beautiful graphics and water are just screaming to be used for this. Make it a part of the gathering and cooking systems and we would be set.
Can’t wait to catch some Orrian Deathbass.

What about a card game similar to the one in Final Fantasy 8. Collect cards of enemies in world the same way as in FF8.
Tables can be placed in cities and towns to play these type of mini games.
Any kind of mini-game added as something new to do, would make me happy to be honest.
what happened to polymock??

Racing like in .hack? Maybe have ridable moas on a special race track? :V
Well Mini games should be more random then just a planed area like fishing any place there is water you can “attempt to fish in” even if it was designed to be fished in or not just so you can do it if you want to so it doesn’t feel like every other game mechanic were stuff is just un interactive background scenery if the game designers did not intend for you to interact with it.
ok you can chef your own bait like in the sims 3 where diffrent bait works for diffrent fish, you can craft dods for stronger fish or you could snap your rod, and the fish you catch, well maybe one could go on a mantle in the player housing coming up.
I think you should be able to fish anywhere, but like in real life fish migrate, and why couldnt you swim with them. It would be like the birds in the sky, you can kill them, and there another mini game hunting although it is already kinda in the game, but maybe sport birds. you could think of a million things that 50% will love and 50% will hate, it all comes down to what anet wants to do. And how much time it would take.
But I do love the fishing Idea???
