increase the stack of 250 to anything, i suggest 999

There are data-mined stuff suggesting that they are (or at least have plans) adding an item like this in the gem-store, which would increase the collectible stack limits.

Unlikely there is probably a technical reason why the stack limit is 250… 255 being the largest (unsigned) number that can be represented with a single byte.

If they do increase it, it may not be unconditional or they would likely at most double it.

In reaction to the 2nd and 3rd post: Yes, there indeed have been datamined evidence that ArenaNet might increase the stack from 250 to 500. I can’t remember if this was a gemstore item or a permanent change.
Note: Since this was datamined, it is not sure if it’ll ever make it into the game.

Good reason for 250stacksize: If you want to store more, buy a char place for a bank twink or buy another bank tab.

What would I do with all my characters named after famous pack-mules and dolyaks?

Seriously though, there’s market reasons to limit stack size. As much as I want to be able to hold more loot, I’d expect things to favor the smaller traders if we keep stack size at 250. Picture a trader who wants to control the market of widgets…. Then give him storage enough to buy them all up and hold them. We’ve enough claims of market manipulation as is, I’ve no reason to want more fuel added to that particular fire by making such claims legitimate at a theoretical level.

Well Surprise It has happened. Gemstore items that increase stack size by 250 each in your collections tab.
