There are skills which are located on different weapon sets but have very similar effects. However, they are also located on different skill slots, which makes weapon swaps or similar abilities very counter intuitive. It is not very difficult to adapt to this flaw, but if it was more consistent, the game would be easier and more intuitive, especially for new commers and people who want to try a new class.

E.g. guardian:
Leap of faith, Greatsword: Gap closer and blind, located on 3
Flashing blade, Sword: Gap closer and blind, located on 2

Symbol of wrath, Greatsword: creates a symbol, located on 4
Symbol of faith, Mace: creates a symbol, locaed on 2
Symbol of Swiftness, Staff: creates a symbol, located on 3

D/D Elementalist:
Burnin Speed, Fire: gap closer, located on 3
Ride the lightning, Wind: gap closer, locaed on 4
Magnetic grasp, Earth: gap closer, located on 3

Ring of fire, Fire: self centered AoE, located on 4
Frozen burst, Water: self centered AoE, located on 3
Ring of earth, Earth: self centered AoE, located on 2

And there are many more cases, of course. I would suggest:
- to distribute skills on skill slots consistently, according to what they do in general. I don’t see why this would have any negative effect. The only negative effect might arise while unlocking skills, but that’s really not essential.
- to allow the player to reallocate skills individually. This would be even a better solution!

I hope this suggestion is helpful and a solution in this matter would definitely draw me closer to the game.

Come to think of it, consistently distributing skills to skill slots might pose a problem when main hand and off hand weapon sets are considered. In this case I would suggest:

- either distribute skills to skill slots as consistently as possible
- or allow us players to change the location of skills on our skill bar individually

(only a slight derivation to what was previously posted)

i wouldn’t mind the possibility to rearrange 1-5. i mean, when they decided to make changes to the guardian gs skills way back when, i refused to play my guardian for a while, i was so kitten . i’ve since gotten myself re-accustomed to the new build layouts.

given the differences, as pointed out above, in the mh/oh weapons, it’s not always doable to have similar weapon skills on the same slots, but i really can’t think what it would hurt us to give us the ability to set those buttons up how we’d like. i mean, we can do it on 7-9, right? AND change the skills on 6 and 0?

The skills are arranged according to their cooldowns at the moment, though there’s some inconsistency to that too… (flamethrower 4 and 5)

Only fools and heroes charge in without a plan.
