defensive/offensive slots on ascended gear should be the same

i don’t see the idea behind splitting these up in “utility, defensive, offensive”.
all it does is confuse players, forcing them into a very specific item path after the item is arquired.

since all items can be bought with all of these, it simply seems silly to FORCE the player into one or the other. at the very best this have no effect at all on gameplay the rest of the time it will simply be a burden and a problem for the players.

i would like to see the defensive and offensive slots simply just being one and the same upgrade slot. so you decided with the thing you put into it what it was.

Offensive and Defensive slots are so played out.

I’d rather get a Utility slot for that +20% gold infusion.
With each item already having full stats, you’re not hurting your group like magic-find gear would. And if you have 3 ascended items, that’s like +60% gold. -drools-

Jokes aside, I don’t think it’s silly at all.

It just gives ANet more room to develop neat items. Like the “Shiniest Shiny”. :P

and thats a completely personal choice to make and it should be. but what the offensive, defensive and utility does right now is simply limit you in a very annoying way while at the same time forcing you to know exactly which stats you wanted to add on it and more importent wth the difference on these 3 even is when you started getting the gear.

i really dont see any benefit in splitting these up and forcing players to only be able to put the “currect” type into the slot since backpack, amulet comes in all 3 varient, while rings comes only in off/deff and you can only wear one of each so you are forced to have one of each not two of offensive or two defensive, which i think is a major letdown.

thats why i would like to see the whole split removed and it just being an upgrade infusion slot.
