Guild Wars 2

My character was idle while i was busy typing away with my guildies in guild chat, i was taking a bit of a break from exploring and just relaxing for awhile when Pop! ive been disconnected for being idle, even though i was in the middle of a conversation, can you make it so even if you havnt moved your character for awhile but are still active in chat you wont get dumped out of the game please.

The current behavior sounds like either it is a bug or an intentional anti-gold seller feature. Either way, I agree that you should not be considered idle when typing and gold sellers should be dealt with differently.

I agree in principle but you get like a 60 second warning before it boots you that counts down every 5 seconds or something ridiculous like that. Is that not enough of a prompt? It also only dumps you to the character select screen.

The notice can be hard to react to quickly enough. For example, I am typing, the text buffer is 75% full and I am trying to finish my post. I miss the timeout. Now, due to another bug, the guild chat window is empty…

Why kick me to begin with? I am active, I am just not moving.

Outside of the World PvP maps chatting should keep you from being kicked.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t. ArenaNet thinks typing is for kittens!
