extend ability to hide clothes to all pieces.
Good idea! I second this.
+1.
But only because I hate my pants.
I third the notion. Shirtless = cool
No thank you. Last thing I want is people naked 24/7.
I like running around shirtless with double daggers in the harsh norn lands. I’d love to be able have more control over the hide option.
thx!
Real Norns don’t wear a chest piece. Are you a real Norn?
;-p
Bad idea, TCNo thank you. Last thing I want is people naked 24/7.

I see that anyway- you’d be amazed how many naked people are running around Orr, don’t get me started on the naked dance parties
Op: I second your idea and I don’t even have a norn! But I have 2 Sylvari and why should they wear clothes?
I’d love if I could hide my asura’s shoes — I hate that their toes stick out of the sides of their boots :P
As a person with light armor, I probably wouldn’t notice the difference. Some light armor is already pretty much the same thing as running around naked. I’ve always wanted the option to hide gloves though. >:

People do that already. Having the option to hide armour pieces will make no difference in that regard and why should some people who want to hide certain armour pieces (like gloves, boots and chest pieces) be prevented from doing so because of your perceived sensibilities? You do realise that most people will not run around naked, even if they are presented with the opportunity to do so, right? Look at AoC – you can hide everything and yet most people simply don’t.
From a roleplaying perspective, asura and several norns and sylvari NPCs don’t even wear boots, but the player has to for the stats. likewise, what’s the point in being able to choose from a selection of tattoos for norn characters if you can’t even see them?
Please, only let non-cross-dresser talk in this thread. I wonder if all the guys want to see their guy walking around in pants. Same for the mysterical creatures called “women”.
I don’t want tons of guys to intentionally create females just to let them walk around in bikinis (I mean, not more than currently).
I’d love if I could hide my asura’s shoes — I hate that their toes stick out of the sides of their boots :P
Yeah, that bugs me too. Not so much that the toes stick out, but the middle one is in the shoe and the other two aren’t. What’s up with that!
So I bought cultural boots, the only viable boot option for a modern Asura
I would really like to be able to hide my chest armor on my female Charr characters. I like the “bra” that they have, and I would especially like it if I could dye that part.
I would also like to be able to hide the foot armor on my Charr, I sometimes think they look cooler when barefoot, more beastly I guess.
I could see it extended to boots and gloves, and be fine with that. Especially since some boots / gloves don’t play well with pants or chestpieces if you mix and match.
Really don’t care for the idea of people running around shirtless / pantless, though. While I realize not everyone would do it, there would certainly be more cases of it than there are now (since there’d be no penalty, whereas now you have to sacrifice stats if you want to).
Its not that I’m all prude “naked bodies, NOOO”, but it just seems silly to me to have people running around with no shirt on expecting to have full armored protection.
I see it similar to some people in this thread. Sure, some players would make silly fun with a ability like that. But I claim, it would be a fractional amount of the players. I really think, that there must be a compromise that could satisfy all, like a option in the Grafic Options Menu , that allows to see other players full armor all the time, or something like that … Either way: Just hide Boots Option would be nice and not too much to ask for.
(In WvW it is a touchy subject for itself …)

Addendum:
Maximum of 3 slots hidden.
This will allow people to be creative, without silly people running around naked in an attempt to obscure what class they play in WvW, etc.

I’m sure we’re never going to see the ability to hide all your armor, but I would like to say that something like this would be useful in the preview pane. I can’t count the number of times I’ve tried to preview boots or gloves only to discover that my current pants and shirt prevent me from seeing them. So I have to go into my hero panel and take them off just to see what I’m looking at. Would surely be nice to hide different pieces of armor in the preview pane in case one covers another.

Sounds good to me.

Sorry I do not support this.

But… you already have the option to hide gloves. Its what the tick box is for.

I fondly remember the Elementalist’s armor in Guild Wars 1. Many of them offer no obviously protection, like the Asuran Armor or the Elite Iceforged Armor. Someday the people have accepted it.
It seems no one has ever bothered it, that Flame-Legion-Shamans are nearly naked. I really like their look, especially their footwear. This bad-kitten -style would be perfect for my Necromancer (except the cloves). This is how beast-armors should look like. In this case I would not need to hide any armorpieces.
Concerning the Asura-Race, I think their style is alright. But again: Footwear is problematic. There are just a few Boots with no toes looking out of them (expensive/Gemshop). Either more closed shoes or the option to hide their footwear please.
