This suggestion is to help mostly with working with random people you team up with at various points. While I would love to see this applied to enemy fields also, getting it on friendly fields would be helpful.
Give the appearance of the white border on the field the ability to function as a rough time. There would be two ways of seeing this done that would be ideal. First would be to have the border start out bright white and fade to Grey as the time ran down. Second would be to add a 1 to 2 second warning to the graphic, like have it become a dotted line, just before it ends.
This would let you tell at a glance if that field over there is worth trying to get to our is it going to disappear before I can utilize it. Should also help wild pugs to coordinate more effectively without having to rely on all being on a voice chat.
As stated before this would be wonderful for boss fights that use a lot of fields to know if those overlapping fields are all new or fading.
Yes a lot of fields in this game have animations but not all do our give you a good sense of tier duration unless you happened to see it go up. I e I just swung my camera around and notice a Allied healing field behind me (I’m melee) this would let me know nearly instinctively if that field is new or nearly gone and worth making a run for.
Personally I would prefer the two stage system.
