please arena .net. youve nerfed dungeon rewards. my opionion a good move. though i like doing dungeons i know as you do the way they were was all people would do. you went overboard with the challenge though and should address that IMO.

so you got rid of something attracting players. but what have you done to attract them to other areas? i purpose a solution that seems to go along with your model. i like exploring. i like going to new areas. i like playing new events . the problem is when i go to a new area my level isnt suited for. yes the play is interesting. but the reward and risk arent. if i die and thus need repairs in a low level area i will lose money. if i complete a low level heart i will reveive a tiny reward compared to what would interest me…. so they dont. even though if i were a lower level the rewards would be more enticing.

so the solution is to scale exploration rewards, hearts waypoints, veiwpoints, and events scale with your level. the loot doesnt have to be on par but a level 40 person in a level 12 area should be getting lvl 35 gear with occasional exceptional gear. no one will grind these events if the boons are universal everywhere and hearts way points ect cannot be farmed. it only makes sense. the way things are now limit exploration and co-operation in areas well below your level. give me and the rest of us a reason.

another thing that should scale or at least give a universally useful reward that doesnt change is for map exploration 100%. for obvious reasons poeple would explore all but one area untill level 80 if map exploration chests scaled. then cash in. but how about 5 mystic coins and maybe some sort of “mini pet token” that youd need 50 of to buy a rare mini pet. which would be tradeable.

even at level 80 if you were getting drops of lvl 75 helping a friend out of the noob area youd be all for helping them. “i could do the endgame but helping him out wont be bad either i remember that one rare i found helping a friend”. a problem with this is faily obvious however. higher gear sells for more than lower gear. this shouldnt be. let gear all sell for the same roughly small amount. you did that for gw 1 and it worked. but…. make the cash rewards scale for higher level characters and experience. and make the drops for higher level characters enticing enough for them not to walk by everything. anyway thoughts and critisims welcome

I keep seeing more and more posts like this, and frankly I find myself worried that you guys are correct. It looks like the community is beginning to split amongst the people who say “well, why do you hate fun?” and people who say “i don’t think it’s fun not getting rewarded”. I feel nudged inbetween. On the one hand i do like the focused gameplay, but on the other hand, everything costs money, whcih means i have to keep moving. The game actively punishes me for staying in an area to long. I loved the AC dungeon untill i noticed how i actually lost money from it, and also getting an item i couldn’t use. Sure the tokens where nice if i was actually looking for grinding that exotic gear. If you are reading this Anet i would love to hear what’s your plan with all this.

As it stands now it looks like people are just vagabonds walking around in big circles trying to find some sort of purpose in this world. The only real reward in this game is either in PvP, or after farming for hours on end. And before you give me “why rush?” answer this question; Why would I go back to a starter zone if i don’t gain anything from it? The idea with level scaling was that i could go back and get rewarded for doing so, right? Well i don’t get rewarded for doing so.

As it stands now they have gone back on that word. Cosmetics? Well that weighs very thin when i can barely pay for my repair bill trying to help out in AC. I’m taking my sweet time getting myself to 80, but i really don’t wanna find myself in the position i was in when playing wow; Asking guildies for repair money to help out.

But yeah I agree with you. For the time being, i have no idea what Anet is planning. If people try to find ways around a set system there is a problem. It looks like Anet is trying to treat the symptoms, not the problems. I.e punishing players for what seems to be poor design.

TLDR; Everything costs money, and as long as it does (wp repair etc) you have to at least pay for the cost of doing something so you don’t go flat broke when revisiting areas.

good to see a kindred spirit. another interesting idea i saw was 100% map exploring give you free map travel there. i think half would be more realistic. and it definetly promotes finding everything on the map and thus exploring. but my above post is much more important
