i’m in LA and i look at the map chat, and it is being overrun by LFG requests for fractals. it is so bad you can not ask questions without them being condemned to the void before anyone has any time to read them.

when you are looking for a group, you do not want to deal with people asking questions why you are looking for people to play with.

solution
make a LFG chat for each dungeon.
this is as close as a “social LFG tool” you can get. this also enables all people who are not interested in doing the dungeon located in the specific area you are in, to use the map chat to ask the playerbase questions, and in general be more social.
this should not be to difficult i think. there are a ton of different chats already, what is a few more?

SO your askign for a LFG tool in the game, and just named it something different.

If you had used the Search function at the almost top right on your forums page and typed in LFG, or Need LFG you would have found probably a few hundred threads about this. You would have also found a thread that had a Developer commenting on it saying they are putting in a LFG tool to the actual in game interface, and we will probably see it around January or February.

What I find funny about this is that they said they didn’t want people to be LFG and play however they wanted.

How is adding a LFG taking away from people playing how the want? In turn it is allowing the people that choose to do only dungeons to do so with greater ease, in turn allowing them to play how they want. With a LFG system, and one that from the looks of it allows a player to be anywhere in the world and do what they want while they wait for a group instead of sitting in LA looking through the map chat for a dungeon. The current beta they have set up will not automatically port you to the dungeon like in wow, it still requires you to run to the dungeon. It just allows players to do word exploration or DE’s or farm orr or do Jumping puzzles ect. while they wait.

Although I have not seen ( not saying there isn’t ) but I haven’t seen anywhere where they say the didn’t want people to be in LFG.

I think you misunderstood what Yamiino means. I believe he/she is saying that it’s ironic that Anet said they don’t want people to LFG, yet that’s what dungeons consist of.

I believe the idea was to get rid of the trinity so that people aren’t waiting for an hour LF Healer, LF tank, etc. It’s ironic/sad/disheartening that it has turned into LFM FoTM 30 war or any variation of that from 1-50 and war/guard.

Yeah but that is not Arena nets fault that people are spamming the chat waves with GLFM NEED X profession. when in reality any profession will work so long as the player knows what they are doing.

Bringing in a LFG interface wont bring back a trinity, it will just allow players to quickly look through and see who is qued for what and who they can pick up.

Have you seen the beta LFG it works great, I can find a group in about 30 seconds or join the lfg and get a group in about 2 to 5 minutes.
