It would be cool if anet could introduce more weapon choices from non token based aquisitions…. Alot of hardcore gamers dislike that everyone can get the same item as them, and a lot of casual players find it hard to get enough currency (ie laurels, tokens etc…) to get anything decent.
Some suggestions is to create
set items (red color text) with special animations when used together
Boss items (a different color text) with lore behind it and a specific monster who drops it
Note, there are no stat bonuses so it wont affect the balance
u can make it so that an armor set must be acquired from running the various paths of explorable modes and story modes (so u can attract ppl to run other paths other than the easiest).
An example i can think of is a tree armor set and weapon that glows with fireflys floating around at night (the glow will grow in intensity depending on how many pieces u are wearing) and each piece will come a specific boss.
this could be implemented into the open world too in the form of notable champions and world bosses
