mounts to spice up the gameplay
Idk about this idea, sounds fun… but then again it would take one step closer to bringing personal mounts into the game and it would give the mount seekers more to harp about. “mounts are already in game, give us personal mounts.” yatta yatta yatta. I personally don’t mind the idea of personal mounts so long as they’re cosmetic and give no boons.
I think personal mount would sort of break the game. There is a reason why GW2 has ton of waypoint across the world. They make it so that people don’t need the mount to travel.
Just a wild suggestion, if there s a system when you are on a mount, you can’t use waypoint at all. If player decide to dismount and use the waypoint, arena net could put long CD on the mount, so that players don’t just dismount and mount very quickly across waypoint.
back to the topic, I thought instance mounts should sort of put varity on GW2 gameplay. For those players who crave for mounts, maybe looking for different games.
Let them choose, Way points or mounts. If you have a mount, no more way points. Way points only appear after death and in locations not accessible by foot. After death, 2 minute cool down on your mount. If you want way points back.. then sell your mount.
but back to the topic, I think they’d just have to do it in an official poll. Let the people decide. Event mounts, Personal Mounts, Both, or None…. one vote per account.
If using a mount means disable of waypoints, which travel method would you perfer, mount or waypoint?
Just suggest to Anet that everytime you ride your mount, you will need to pay 5 silver or more. It like taking a cab and Anet operate these cabs. With money to earn from this pay-to-use mount system, Anet will more readily accept your suggestion.
Otherwise, mount will severely impact their revenue stream collect from waypoint traveling. I doubt Anet will be stupid enough to cut off their revenue stream by introducing mount.
actually…what I am suggesting at the beginning was only to have mounts during specific dynamic events. If you try hijack the mount and run away, the mount will disappear. You can only follow the NPC by not detour too much.
