I’d like to think I’m not the only one to want the ability to change the dye color of hair accessories without resorting to the hair change kits, of course I’m not suggesting we should be able to change our hair color or style without the kits.
As someone with a pet peeve for colors that stick out I’ve pigeonholed myself to a set color scheme for my dyes and I’d love to see an additional dye tab for accessories I don’t feel like it’d hurt the sale of hairstyle kits for such reasons as exclusive colors and maybe in the future new accessories etc.
tl;dr: dying options for hair accessories would be a nice addition.
It’s puzzling why they set it up the way they did. It appears to have been set up as part of you, like your skin color or hair color, rather than as a type of armor. Which is probably why is not dyeable outside of character creation. To make it dyeable in game they would probably need to rewrite the code so that it’s a type of armor, but that may cause conflicts with the helms.
The other option, which they should institute, is free hair accessory dye kits you can get from a vender or the gem store. I say free, because I think this is a poor game design and people shouldn’t have to pay to correct it. Nor should they have to live forever with a color selection from the very start of the game. A selection that was both limited in options and that likely doesn’t match your armor later.
bump, I’d like to see this get a little more light
Bump as well, if possible.
As I see it, they should implement 2 full color palettes. One for hair and one for highlights in the hair, that way you won´t be restricted. Besides, would only be fair since you are paying in gems for this.
Recustomization needs to be taken out of the gem shop entirely. City of Heroes never charged this much for it.
I would honestly be happy if we could just use makeover kits our characters and redye the accessories to any dye color we have unlocked at that time. I’d be willing to buy a makeover kit if I could make my asura’s headband a paler pink.
However, I certainly wouldn’t be one to complain about being able to dye the accessories like regular armor. I just also understand that that could be overly difficult to implement.
I ended up buying a hair makeover kit and dyeing my hair accessory to match my hair color. I got tired of my hair ribbons clashing with my colors of the day, as I tend to redye my armor frequently. It’s a poor solution but I consider it marginally better than having the colors clash.
