Guild Wars 2

As we all noticed there are only 2 heavy armor classes (and 3 of each – light and medium armor), so we should expect one more to come anytime soon.

There are many ideas for a new class, like monk (heavy armored? naah…), ritualist or dark knight, just to name a few… why not something more original?

I don’t know if Anet has any plans so far, but I would be really happy to see a class, which actually came out as a Snowball Mayhem class – I’m talking about heavy gunner.
Heavy armored, wielding hand cannon, moving slowly in attack mode with different weapon skills depending on the mode – offensive or deffensive (weapon unseathed).
Yes, hand cannon – we have shortbows and longbows, swords and greatswords, why not rifles and hand cannons?

I’d personally change my main character for that one

Any comments and ideas higly aprieciated.

Wouldn’t a ritualist be like a necromancer/mesmer combination? That wouldn’t be a heavy class I don’t think.

Death Knights just remind of WoW and are clunky lol.

Barabarians are basically Warriors.
Like Guardians are basically Paladins.

Barbarians would be medium armor and Ritualists would be light armor

I would love to see either of those professions added though

If you want another heavy armor class ask for the Paragon from GW1 that would be a great addition to the game.

And don’t even mention the kitten guardian on this one. It would be a heavy-ranged-combat-based class.

With spear throwing and damage buffs for the party. I dunno, something like that.

I have always hoped for a class in an mmo that cold dual wield shields that wold stand like a freaking wall on the battlefield and shrug off the most devastating attacks like they where nothing. but at the same time not be very mobile or hard hitting by thereself.

Weapons of choice:
sword mainhand/offhand
dagger offhand
axe mainhand/offhand
shield offhand
General gist/ miscellaneous:
The class mechanic is that for each weapon combo they have an offensive and defensive stance which they can switch to . These stances not only give you different skills but depending on the stance the chance to buff you (such as stability for X seconds ) or the chance to add/extend a condition for X seconds

No one would play the Heavy Gunner, how would you ever catch someone in PVP?

how? that’s up to skills – like heavy gunner in Snowball Mayhem – knonckdowns, pushbacks, plus some cripples… when you shoot, you barely move, but when you shoot, you do DAMAGE

this class could be mobile (but fragile at some point) with weapon unseathed, but very dangerous (but slow) shooting hand cannon.

I would LOVE to see a class that uses some kind of magical Dark armor and Light armor
