off hand autoattacks
I completely agree. If a one-handed weapon has a three-part combo as its auto attack, one of the hits should utilize your offhand rather than just being three hits with the right hand while your left just kinda sits there idle unless you use a 4/5 skill.
i agree with this as well! even though the Ranger’s Sword attacks are less awkward because the auto 2 is a kick and auto 3 is a like a cross-slash with both weapons, would be nice to see my thief be less awkward on his auto attacks using pistols and daggers. but give it some time, ArenaNet may come to this conclusion as well if given enough time. There doesn’t even have to be a change in stats, it could be purely aesthetic. I always thought it was weird when you’d have a pistol in your hand, but never used it…

I wholeheartedly agree.
I would be happy if the two weapons were just alternated between.
Even if it’s just a visual change, it should happen when both weapons are melee or ranged.
It look natural to hit with the sword and save the pistol for some shots, but when you have two pistols, or two swords having one hanging, doing nothing, doesn’t feel natural.
Much like when Thieves equip different weapons and the 3rd slot change, the 1st should change even if its into one that has the same name and appearance, but that looks as if the character was using both weapons alternatively for the skill.

I suggested this back in BWE 1, ArenNet should definitely look into it, if they haven’t already.

This is a great idea,I was just looking at this the other day on my Dagger/Dagger Necro and noticed she was only swinging with her main hand and it looked a bit silly lol.
This really needs to be addressed attacking with just one weapon when you have two is really stupid. Not sure what the animation guys were thinking.
