openworld PVE missions - makes the world alive
Man I love this idea! This would totally flesh out the end game for guild wars. I just hope they scale the rewards for each mission though.
I suggested something like this, but I didn’t flesh it out this much
I like it, and totally agree we need more to do at cap

with the Mad King’s scavenger hunt being proof of concept , iam pretty sure the devs already have existing tech to put this in place
if this catches their attention , this can actually get implemented really quick

Nobody’s doing anything that’s already in the game. Entire zones are empty, the dragon zerg isn’t even completed on most servers anymore.
You don’t need more to do, especially considering how you don’t even do what you have now.
So shines a good deed in a naughty world.

there really isnt any incentive to do anything other than dungeons/orr/dragons atm.
you’ll explore only when you are leveling.
once you hit 80 , the only places you’ll go is dungeon/orr/dragons.
even then , orr and dragons gets really boring fast.

you need more choices in what you can do at 80.
i have friends at 80 who have for the past weeks, logged in , grind orr , farmed dragons.
and thats all they do , because they don’t want to do dungeons.
we definteily need more to do(choices) at 80 , cause many players are beyond bored of dragons and orr. at the same time , these very same players have alot of unexplored places.
why do they not explore those places then ? , no incentive.
its a chain that a-net needs to break
1 – “orr/dragons gives the best loot”
2- “but iam bored of them”
3 – “why not do other stuff ? , explore ?”
4 – go back to 1
they need a nudge in the right direction to explore what a-net has to offer , which is not just orr and dragons. and i am saying this for those players who can’t do dungeons ( read orig post)
You need to be given a reason to do what is already there IMO. There is tons of events ppl havent experienced even if they have multiple 80’s. Even if they have world completion. Re-structuring zones to give you a reason to do stuff to obtain other stuff in a more easily identifiable way.
It needs to be structured in a way that lets you readily track a progression. When you were lvling you had your main story that kept you in a progression.
Add something, anything to the pve aspect to continue in some form, may it be individual or group.

Unfortunately people aren’t doing them because, when compared to The Cursed Zerg, they just aren’t rewarding enough. Why spend 20 – 30 minutes setting up the dragon fight and taking a dragon down when you could just cycle The Cursed Shore for Karma and Loot?
If they made these activities worth it reward / time spent wise in comparison to The Cursed Shore, then people would do them.
For example, if they had a Karma Vendor after the Dragon Fights (much like the Temple Takeovers) that offered unique armour skins (i.e. Branded armour for the Shatterer) / weapon skins (Clawed weapons for Jormag) / rare crafting mats for Karma (account bound so they don’t flood the market), then people would be more inclined to do them. As it is, the only vendor on offer is after the Claw of Jormag fight, and he sells Icy Runestones for Gold.
Same with these missions. If people were given the opportunity to get something out of them, then they’d do it.
