precursors in black lion chests?
Frankly, I’d support anything that lowers precursor prices.
If that happens, expect a backlash from the staunchest supporters of this game. Having the precursor drop in BL Chests could lead to accusations of Pay-2-Win.
We don’t want that. Let’s just hope that the Scavenger Hunt would alleviate the pain of finding and acquiring precursors.

Accusations around Pay-To-Win would certainly arise, but then there would be players ready to tell them how much of an idiot they are because of what a Legendary weapon is.
A Legendary Weapon is really just a skin with no stat boosts compared to what a regular exotic weapon would carry, and the same can be said for those pesky precursors that everyone wants.
Currently, people could probably get away with the whole ‘pay-to-win’ complaint with the in-game option to convert gems into gold, which I (among several others I’m sure) have made use of, and that has been around since launch.
And plus, Black Lion chests already drop things like guild influence boosts, coin bags, magic find boosts, etc. So anything currently dropped within them could also be marked as ‘pay-to-win’ by the complainers.
In the end, I think having a small chance to get a precursor from a Black Lion chest would be a nice alternative to running dungeons all the time. I’m not a big fan of doing dungeons, but I don’t think it’s fair that I should be denied a precursor just because it’s not within my preferred style of game play.
Buying gold/legendarys on gold vendors is pay-to-win too, just saying …

you can get permanent contracts in chests, which go for hundreds of golds
And you can pretty much buy a precursor with you credit card already, assuming you’re willing to shell for a weapon what i pay as rent in a month
