Guild Wars 2

i recently got my account permeantly banned for a simple slip up of payment issues in the gem store, which is fair enough, however when i got my new account with a new serial code i discovered that i was not able to link my guild wars 1 account to my new account as they can only be linked to one account. This bothered me A LOT, more than the fact i had lost my two level 80s and almost 700 hours of playtime on my account. the fact that i spent around 2-3 years playing gw1 and getting my hom stuff for guild wars 2 for it all to just vanish because my GUILD WARS 2 account got banned not my gw1 account seems a bit unjust. I think there should be a way to re link a gw1 account to another gw2 account. I don’t think that something that happened in gw2 should also punish me in gw1. thanks

How is this punishing you in gw1? You haven’t mentioned anything about your gw1 account being banned, so I see no way in which your gw2 slip up is punishing you in gw1. All you’ve said is that you can’t link your gw1 account to a new gw2 account, which only punishes you in gw2.

Additionally, there was a fair bit of warning that linking accounts would be permanent. Knowing that, wouldn’t you want to be more careful about getting banned? To be fair though, I don’t know the details behind your ban so it could have been out of your control.

Perhaps try to appeal the ban if that’s possible? I’ve never heard of linked accounts being unlinked before so it doesn’t seem likely that you’d get them to make an exception.

what i mean by ‘its punishing me in gw1’ is that all the work i put into gw1 is now completely useless since i don’t play gw1 anymore. i don’t mean it directly punishes me in gw1. On the topic of my account being banned it wasn’t anets fault at all, however it wasn’t my personal fault either. what happened was i made a payment on a friends paypal with their permission to the gem store, however they saw the payment come through later and didn’t recognise it so phoned up paypal and asked it to be blocked. this resulted in anet thinking that i had accessed their paypal without authorization so permeantly banned me. i contacted support and went back and forth with them for a while but they said there was nothing they could do.
I’m not asking for them to make a exception just for me, but just throwing it out there as something they might want to consider in the future
