While perfection of every piece of armor meshing perfectly with every other piece of armor is a huge undertaking … I can point to the single most dire offender.

Problem: The “sheathed” shield, plopped on the back, clips with almost everything (especially heavy shoulder armors)

When “unsheathed” while some clipping issues may still arise, they are no more so than any other weapon/armor combo. The solution seems obvious:

Solution: Leave the shield on the arm when weapons are sheathed or unsheathed.

The only notable exception would be when carrying a bundle … at which point slinging the shield on the back may be the “better” option. But for me, I’d rather have clipping issues every time I carry a bundle over having clipping issues every time my shield is sheathed.

The default design for the great sword clips with my Charr’s back too, which could be fixed by rotating the hilt ever so slightly! Also there’s allot of leggings that aren’t designed for tails, sadness!

Really good point BananaMatrix … Since the greatsword is also slung on the back it is a fairly large offender as well (though imo, less so that the shield since it doesn’t clip with armor nearly as often)

I still believe the shield slung on the back is the single largest offender to armor art clipping.

I like the idea for the shield. Though I think it would require a different running animation specifically for when you have a shield. Especially for Charr.
