stealth detection.....
An of course you must be an elementalist….
Stealth lasts so little that I doubt a skill of this kind could be really useful…
I don’t see any reason for stealth detection in GW2. Now, if we had permanent stealth (or anything close), I would agree that we need some form of counter to it. That is not the case, however.
it will be useful, to minimize the effect of hidden attack s like backstab or other skills,
(if you will dig my post history, i play ranger and thief,)
Right now I think there is a way to force stealthed players out of stealth, but it requires AoE boon removal abilities. Only mesmers and necromancers have those from what I know.
The only class that should do this is engineer.

as i have read the necro thread, their AoE does not detect stealth, and they were asking if they can detect stealth as well, maybe an addition to their skill might be a good idea,
an engineer will be ok also,
the point is just give one profession the ability to detect stealth

No, it has the potential to break any class that “relies” on stealth as a class mechanic — mainly Thief. If backstab is truly an issue, then the developers/balance leads will need to take a look at that specifically.
Adding in a general counter is not the answer, especially not in GW2 where Thieves are not balanced around near-permanent/permanent stealths.
