stealth finishers in pvp
blah blah blah because invulnerable and stability stomp are underpowered? Every stomp should be interrupted right?
OP stomps:
- stealth stomp
- teleport stomp
- portal stomp
- stability stomp
- invulnerability stomp
- blind stomp
- aegis/block skill stomp
So what is so special about stealth stomp again?
while in structured pvp or wvw being downed is not always the end when one can fight to survive. however while an opponent is trying to finish off the downed player it is still not the end, the finisher can be interrupted or teleported away from. however as almost anyone who has been killed by a thief will know a finisher cannot be interrupted if the person doing it cannot be targeted due to stealth. while stealth is one of the thief’s greatest assets it is incredibly frustrating that a single class gets a free pass to finish someone just because of stealth. stealth is a great function to help avoid combat, re-position and get the jump on enemies, however, someone should not be allowed to activate a finisher while in stealth. activating a finisher during stealth should either break stealth or not be able to be activated for the duration of the stealth.
But a finisher with mistform, invulnerable, stability, shrinked, and blocks should be still possible?

It’s good to be bad!
The vast majority of you fail to realize that everything you are listing in comparison to a stealth stomp has a long cool down.
Popular one for a example: Mist Form 75 second cool down (60 second traited)
Thief stealth in comparison: 0 cool down on reapplying stealth
Only way stealth will have a cool down is if the Thief attacks from stealth. Even then the cool down is only 3 seconds (WvW) or 4 seconds (sPvP).
Stealth stomping insures the stop on all classes except Elementalist and Thieves, much the same as Mist form but is on a much shorter cool down.

Just remove the downed state.
I’m so tired of people complaining about this. It is one of the easier stomps to deal with when I’m trying to get someone off my ally. I can’t do anything against other stomps to help but I can stop stealth stomps.
If your team can’t deal with stealth stomps, you need to find a better team.
i said this in another thread that said the same thing bassically.
what makes stealth stomp seem over powered is that thieves can get stealth literally whenever the hell they want. no other class has on demand stability, unvlunerability, etc that comes from a couple skills on their weapons.
a guardian cant gain stability by using his weapons
an ele cant gain invulnerablity by using his weapons
and so on
theif is the only class that can prepare himself to make a stomp on someone simply by using his weapons combo fields
my solution is to simply have the thief immediately revealed if he is trying to stomp with stealth that came from his combo field, but not revealed if he is using stealth from a utility such as shadow refuge, putting him in line with the other classes.

Umm… no? There are no Cool downs for Thief. Cloak and Dagger runs off of initiative. There is no cool down for it. The only time Thief will ever have a cool down on stealth is if he attacks before the stealth is over (aka the Revealed De-buff). The Thief can chain stealth as long as he never attacks from stealth.
Another option on no cool down for Thief is to use Black Powder. It achieves the same thing for less effort.

CnD or Black Powder cost 6 Ini, one Ini point restore every 1,33 sec, 6*1,33 = 7,98 secs.
If you have 0 Ini points you realized how long 8 sec are, special when all weaponskills also your second weaponset, use the same pool.
With other classes you can switch your weapons should be all your skills on CD, but this doesnt work with thiefs ^^
