If I purchase something (or have the opportunity to purchase something with real money), I’d like to be able to use it as long as I please.
I’d rather have a wardrobe in the gemstore where I can store all my cosmetic possessions…or an NPC who will register and then resell me my holiday-related cosmetics as often as I want for a few silver.

I like the idea of the cosmetics. A beard, hair accessory, santa hat, tattoos, make up, etc… It’s fun to play dress up! (See: every player that has ever saved up for a specific set of armor for looks + dye prices).
However, I do not like the “temporary” part. Limited edition is fine, as in it’s only available for purchase for short period of time. Limited use makes panda babies cry.

I get where everyone is coming from for saying temporary is bad, but for a few gems I’d said it’s worth it. Lots of players change their look for the holidays or certain events and then change it back after, so all the temp items would be directed towards ppl who do that. If there was a Santa beard like you suggested it can be in the bltp as a temp item for like 1-5gems that will last a week or so, imo that would be reasonable and I agree how it could be a good little gold sink.
However they should also put it up as a permanent limited edition option as well for those who would want to keep it for a higher gem cost.

that would be cool: wintersday dance= 5 gems for a dance that lasts until the end of the holiday (or 1 gme) same for other holidays
specific emotes for that holiday etc.
right now you can buy the fancy Wintersday town clothes which are permanent for 700 gems… a beard or some other cosmetic for 5 gems would be fun. I would not be opposed to something that costs 1-5 gems to remain permanent though

i see the idea behind it but no, i never liked the perm-temp item idea from the get go and see it as a scam to get money from the unfortunate ones.
If the cosmetics are only useable on a specific holiday event and such that’s fine. It will come back next year, so you just put it in your bank and then you equip it next year.
I don’t see a problem with this.
1-5 gems is literally pennies in real life currency. For a month long event like Wintersday, spending less than a dime for something fun and unique for 30 days is a fair enough price for a rental.
