Well, on that token, should I spill my heartbreak over the fact that I played EQ for 7 years, terribly miss my Cleric and suggest to ANet that they need to reinstate the Monk profession?

(rolls eyes)

Every game is different, luv… Miss druids that much then go back to WoW

I use to be a Ritualist and a Paragon in my former life…

Aside from what has been said, Anet designed the professions and the number of them with certainty. At one point in development there were 12. They probably thought of druids, maybe even did a bit of designing for them. They specifically ruled them out until the ones left felt distinct. And I think that they are against adding more professions.

Wow is not a kitten game! Its a panda game now lol. I would like to see shape shift abilities not be terrible though. Like the norn aspects. Ranger with a staff could be neat too for a little nature magic.

Part 1:

I wish people would just think before they post…

GW2 has already a class that you could call a Druid… its the RANGER, Anet has just only to improve the class a bit to make it feel a bit more like a Druid in regard of Nature Magic.
Therefore the Ranger needs some little tweaks and redesigns in its gameplay mechanics around their pets/utility skills only and some additional weapons.

First the additional weapons, as they are obvious:

- Scepter
- Focus
- Staff

This would add to the Ranger 10 new Weapon Skills to give the Ranger 2 new druidish builds, one for beign more melee orientated and one for being more range orientated, the staff in this case.

To the redesign of the game mechanics, Anet has to move the Call Utility away and integrate them into the Pet Command System, so that F1 to F4 are those 4 Utility Calls in an upgraded version.
This makes space for 4 new better and more useful utility skills, which coudl be then either for example 4 Nature Spells to improve the druid like build with 4 another skills raising the amount from 10 to 14 druidish skills, or something completely new, like “Preparations”, which would fit also too for the Ranger as Utility Skills to have something, that can change their effects of their weapon skills for all the non druidish weapons and putting Nature Spirits into your utility slots would have then a greater effect on those druisish skilsl from scepter, focus and staff…

Imprtant for the redesign of the ranger should be also, to make them command 2 pets at the same time, make pets killable, like normal player characters and have them let a downed state too, together with improved options for healign your pet and reviving your pet, so thart ranger players finaly have stop stop about playing brain afk with their pets as they are basically invincible tanks that can quickly exchanged and auto revived through the swapping to another pet.
No, the player should have to care about his pets, that none of them dies and has to revive them manuelly.
Therefore need pets itself also improvements,m in regard of receiving a better A.I. so that they finally learn to dodge also attacks and that they stand not permanently dumb around in AoE’s. The defense power against AoEs needs to be improved, so that pets don’t die in a matter of seconds.

The classical Druid archetype is already taken up by Ranger (nature-based magic) and Norn (shapeshifting). So I don’t really see how it would fill any gaps and thus it would be pointless.

If you want a druid simply make a Norn Ranger ^^
