Im tired of accidentally dodging off of vistas and jumping puzzles. seriously i see it all day long while trying to do these puzzles. folks halfway through the puzzle and all of a sudden there character decides to forward roll off the edge. do everyone a favor and save the sanity of folks trying to do these puzzle and make it so you cant accidentally dodge off puzzle and vista edges. at least just for these places. its both frustrating and unbelievably annoying. it ruins both the fun and the challenge and turns it into pure luck that it doesn’t happen.

by the way i know what causes you to dodge and it still doesn’t matter. it happens anyway on it own its very sensitive. all i have to do is watch players and i watch them fall for the same reason.

If it’s a problem, couldn’t you temporarily unbind dodge and turn off the double tap to dodge option?

1st rule for a explorer: Disable double tap roll

We just don’t want players to grind in Guild Wars 2. No one enjoys that.

If you dodge, and you know how to avoid it…then avoid it.

If you checked the box for double tapping for dodging, and you double tap, then you’re going to dodge. There’s nothing “sensitive” about it. You told it to do it, and it’s doing it.

I don’t understand, how do you propose to fix this problem? It’s a player problem if they choose to dodge, not Anet’s problem.

Are you suggesting they put up invisible barriers so that you can’t fall off on jumping puzzles?

Yeah, I use button 2 on Razer Naga for dodge and have disabled the double tap. It makes for more responsive dodge in fights as well as no evading off high spots.

Click the gear in the upper left of your screen choose options, in the window that opens uncheck "Double-Tap to Evade[/b].

I think he wants safety railings added to all puzzles. Kind of like what baby cribs have.

Turn off double tap to evade. If you have this turned on, then you’re doing it wrong. You should never have this option turned on.

eh… I have double tap to dodge on and can’t recall having problems with jump puzzles. I’m not going to say I’ve NEVER dodge rolled off an edge, but it’s very few and far between. Holding right and left click will let you move forward while controlling the camera and allow you to creep forward if you’re trying to position yourself. That’s helped me a lot.

I’m just so used to double-tapping to dodge that I don’t feel like retraining my reflexes.

This used to happen to me all the time. I’d try to inch my character a little to the left or forward to get a better jump angle or view and weeeeeeeee splat! I changed my dodge to right Ctrl (I use arrow keys to move) and haven’t fallen by mistake since. I do though randomly call out skills into Guild Chat now if I click one to soon before/after dodging but that’s better than falling

I find it very, extremely, hilariously, outrageously funny that people call things like ranger traps into chat. guess it’s just my keyboard layout – not much chance of pressing return when the nearest combat key to it is G
