voice integration
I’ve seen it in one or two games, its a novelty at best, often becomes a nuisance with people being able to spam it.
More often than not it rapidly becomes left behind as people that are interested in communicating properly use the dedicated voice chat programs that are often always much better quality.

This reason exactly is why a lot of people don’t even realize there is a built in voice chat in that other popular MMO… (for those who can’t decipher, WoW)
Integrated voice chat systems more often than not don’t work out. They are a nice concept, but they never really work out. Many times they are poor quality as well, but what can you really expect when you have potentially thousands of players on a single voice server…
Dedicated voice chat services may require more organization and coordination but they are more reliable… plus you don’t get voice spammed by trolls on dedicated chat servers.
On a note about it being impossible, there is already a feature that allows mumble users to have their voice be affected by the locational relation to the listener (such as behind or on left side, and distance too, IIRC) if both have the feature enabled. So for that part, it wouldn’t be a technical impossibility. However, as said, resources might become an issue.
