And if so, what kind of insults would they use?

Because it seems to me that the Sylvari are rather peaceful and would have a hard time insulting other races and generally sticking up for themselves.

Can someone shed light on this? Anyone know any really rotten Sylvari?

Nightmare Court. Not sure if there is anything but their dialog may have something to work off of.

Sylvari can insult yes. Perhaps often unintentionally, what with not completely understanding that certain things can be insulting.

This. I’d imagine, since they are young. Imagine this scenario. You have a Sylvari friend that overhears to people using some very bad racial slurs. The Sylvari notices you fit the description but doesn’t know that that’s a bad word. They might call you it ( not meaning any harm of course) since they don’t quite understand human ways of thinking and emotions very well. Someone can correct me on that

So while Sylvari may not have invented their own curse words, they can wield puns with deadly accuracy.

Caithe is a firstborn so she;s been around 25 years. And I can’t think of a point in the story that stands out where she’s really insulted anyone. She seems quite diplomatic and truthful without any need to insult anyone.
Maybe they are just too young a race to do so yet. I hope we are given the oppertunity to skip forward in time and see the Sylvari in a few hundred years or so, to see what they’ve become and what they’ve learned. Maybe then they’ll be able to insult.

At the moment they’re just so wondering, and curious and niave to be able to insult properly.
Apart from puns…. obviously :p

Sylvari can definitely insult others, I remember there’s an NPC in The Grove who says there’s a lady “whose face looks like a drake”, and I think she has some other insults, too.

Considering that the Nightmare court are indeed sylvari and are EVIL I would think that sylvari can insult others, just like any other race.

In the personal story “The Blossom of Youth,” Whisper agent Cai will need to disguise you into a human while you gather info from bandits. You’ll see some pretty interesting insults there.
