As a level 29 sylvari I’ve always wondered something.. What do you guys think the relation between the centuars and sylvaris might be? The sylvaris are ‘’ spirits ’’ of the nature and Centuars has always struck me to be very ’’earthly’’ if you catch my drift?
I mean, I know the humans and centuars have their feuds but the sylvaris are kinda differnent.

And when I did my Sylvari storyline quest for the Order of Whispers the centuars we spoke to seemed to somewhat like us, or atleast accept us, as they called of
‘’ spirits of the nature ’’, almost respecting and not at all hostile. So what do you guys think? Do centuars like and maybe even respect the sylvaris indiffer from the humans and probably the other races ?

In the OoW quest you’re tricking those centaurs, hence acting as if you’re “spirits of nature” and telling them you used random magic to clear the town because the humans annoy you.

I think it really depends on which tribe of centaur you encounter. For the Order of Whispers quest, this tribe clearly didn’t know much about the sylvari. Others might be a bit more knowledge and less superstitious.

In general, I think a sylvari can get away with the “spirits of nature” card, but not for much longer. Word will eventually get out that the sylvari aren’t spirits after all and, in fact, allied with the humans. This might very likely have severe ramifications and cause the centaurs question their way of life – but that’s just speculation.

Because of Ventari’s teachings and because of his influence on the Sylvari, I feel like they would have hope of pacifying the centaurs and ending the war between them and the humans. Whether this is possible is debatable, and likely it would take many many years for the conflict to cool down.

Still though, I think it would be amazing to see at least one tribe of centaurs come into Caledon Forest and be welcomed by the Sylvari. I do think there’s SOME chance of it happening, but I don’t really know. Just the fact that a peaceful human and centaur are responsible for the Pale Tree’s growth and the Sylvari emerging, it makes sense to me that their efforts might go toward mending relations between the two races. One day, at least.

Don’t forget that the centaur are constantly referred to as xenophobes (and occasionally as badgering racists). Even if they tolerate the sylvari more than other races, they’re still not centaur/animals and as such still aren’t buddies.

Ventari was more or less an outsider in his time (by not rejecting peace with the humans and/or for seeing them as equals rather than inferior), so I don’t believe the Harathi, Modniir, or any other tribe would hold the sylvari connection close or lend it much weight.

The only centuars I see peace being possible with based on what we have seen of them in GW1 is the Elonian Centaurs. They seem to me to be the only ones willing to work with humans, if only due to returning a favor.

I could see a splinter group of Centaurs inspired by Ventari and the Sylvari however.
