Craftable Caladbolg
Obviously it will have to have a different name but the skin is definitely a good idea to have. It would be nice to see a lot more sylvari-type weapons from the mystic forge.
i’d give all the (in-game) monies for it. pairing it with kudzu would make my sylvari ranger the ultimate (ultimater) sylvari.
Yeah, I really wish we could steal Caladbolg back from Trahearne. He doesn’t know how to use it anyway.
Give me back my sword, and I’ll show ya how to use it!
Gotta disagree. Caladbolg is hardly a normal weapon, nor should it be craftable. If it was an elite skill, that I could get behind.
I doubt we’ll ever see it, but I wantsss it!

oooooooo!
the return of unlockable PvE skills. that would be so cool. “summon caladbolg” could be unlocked by doing a side mission after beating the personal story.
those things would have to be race-free though.

Why shouldn’t it be a normal weapon? It’s already completed, with all the pseudo-legendary weapon effects.
That would be very cool. It was a fun sword.
I do like the look of most the Sylvari – plant resembling – weapons, some look a bit odd, but very unique.
Caladbolg as you probably already know was a peice of the pale tree itself so having 100’s of those in game would just really screw over the whole part of it being the only weapon able to slay the lich in the story line. Although it would be cool, i must disagree. Something like it would definitely be cool though.
IMO Caladbolg shouldn’t be a craftable weapon because:
1) It’s a unique artifact grown by the Pale Tree for a specific purpose.
2) Being craftable would mean it’s available to every species, and I’d hate that, similarly to how I disliked everyone and their grandma riding a nighsaber in WoW. It’s a signature artifact of the sylvari, it should stay in sylvari hands.
3) It does not act like a normal weapon but bestows its own unique set of skills.
4) Which means that a crafted Calabolg would not be Caladbolg at all, just a generic sylvari-skinned weapon.
5) And it means that if your class does not normally have access to greatswords, you would not even be able to touch crafted Caladbolg despite having wielded the real thing in your personal story as the Pale Tree’s Herald.
It just wouldn’t make any sense.
who cares if it makes sense i want to see this sword or Excalibur as a legendary
Why not just introduce a craftable version that is a different colour or something to distinguish it from the original?
Just because it looks like Caladbolg doesn’t mean its actually made of the pale tree, replicas could be made from less important magical trees like that one in Brisban Wildlands, Revered Terebrinth, making them powerful weapons but not giving them the bundle powers Caladbolg itself gets and making them far less important lorewise as people take snippings from Terebrinth all the time.
+1
I’ve been wanting to see Caladbolg as a player weapon for a while now. I also like the idea of making it just as difficult to acquire as Volcanus, Foefire’s Essence, and other such weapons.
As the previous poster suggested, it could be named something else…it doesn’t have to be the original (a lesser version just as Fiery Dragon Swords are lesser versions of Magdaer and Sohothin).
